This seems like a pretty big issue.

Wladimir often gets away with holding his opponents and putting his weight on opponents. It's an ugly tactic that shouldn't be allowed in the sport yet somehow Wlad always gets away with it.

Haye often (in Great Britian) gets away with hitting opponents on the back of the head and hitting opponents when they are down (see Barrett, Ruiz, and Fragomeni fights). Ah UK referees....

I'm going to assume that since this is in Germany the rabbit shots won't be allowed, but what about the holding? Who is the ref?

As long as it's a ref who feels strongly against rabbit punches they should be good

Wlad is never warned for holding or his use of the illegal stiff arm. I expect July 2 to be no different.
Rabbit punches will be Haye's only weapon if Wlad is allowed to hold at will.

Haye never gets warned for rabbit punches, they award him with extra points instead counting the illegal punches as knockdowns of his opponents. I hope they'll have a competent ref in there.

Have you guys noticed that Haye will somtimes whack opponents on the side or the back of the head if they come in to clinch him? That would surely dissuade Wladimir, but it seems unlikely the ref in Hamburg would allow it.

I'm hoping for a clean fight without much holding, but we'll have to see.

Yeah. Him and Monte were taking turns in their fight. He's already warned Wlad he has a nasty suprise waiting for him if he tries to hold.

True, but for some weird reason Ruiz still got a count.

and Haye talks about Waldo fighting bums and un-motivated fighters
just looking to collect a Pay-Check

Haye hit barrett while he was down?

I remember Barrett hitting Haye when he fell down but not the other way around, I guess he is still in the swing of things and like many fighters will tell you, they don't realise the fighter is down until a full few seconds later.

But also, those Haye fights you mentioned, they weren't even UK refs involved. Apart from the Barrett fight.

Also, I don't believe many boxers on-purposely strike behind the head, its easy for us to say that when we are watching but I think if you're there, throwing punches while a guy is coming towards you then, of course some punches will go all over the place, loads of boxers do it.

But I wouldn't worry too much about what ref is involved. This fight is clearly ending in a KO from either guy, as long as the ref can count, I don't believe anything else he does will be a factor in this fight.

I hate having to defend a guy a really don't like but...

Valeuv was a fight they took so they could get a belt and go back to negotiations with Wlad and Vitali with more to wager.

Ruiz was a mandatory. End of.

And **** knows what they Audley Harrison fight was about... Money, that is all.

But as a crusierweight he did unify and has only ever lost once and has knocked out nearly every guy he has faced... I mean... I don't know why people hate on him so much.
