That was prime Weaver when he KO'd a huge 240 pound John Tate outta desperation.... Who knows? The critics will lick Marciano's balls to the point of chapness, but Weaver of '80 is a live underdog..... If Marciano thought Joe Wally had a great and heavy hook in 1952, he'd hate to eat the hook that Weaver exploded off Tate's jaw in round 15 in March of '80.... WORD!

Are you questioning Joe Wally's Hook?

No. Wally's hook was the goods, and accurate...... I'm just saying I'm not sure it was harder than Weaver's hook upon full impact.....

I got whiskey flowing right now and my tape of "Weaver-Dokes 2" from 1983 is rolling... I'll tell you this, Weaver of May '83 and 218 ripped pounds of muscle is on the hunt here in round 4 against the 223 pound Dokes, who also appears to be blowing air from his mouth....
    :yep:bbb
Weaver was reamed by ref Joey Curtis in fight # 1 of 1982....... That call sucked ass with a McDonald's straw.... ARGH!

Yes Weaver is a live underdog dog but gets stopped late. Rock probably gets off the floor. When in shape Hercules was tough to beat.

Weaver was a tough dude. I'd make him a live underdog against Rocky.

Weaver would be far and away the strongest guy Rocky ever fought and best puncher with either hand .. he could box behind a hard, firm left jab and bust Rocky up a bit .. however I can see the crouching Marciano as a bit of a difficult target and a crackling overhand right , the like of which dropped Moore for the first time, could spell Weavers doom ... Mike did not have the best chin in the world nor was he the fastest guy on the planet .. There are quite a few big guys I pick over Rocky based on style but all must have a very solid chin ..

I think Weaver was good for that era 1980's but I don't think he would have made it to the top in the 1950's, In the 1950's you did not have the split title politics and guys with 10 fights 12 fights and 13 fights got title shots. Weaver could punch and game for the most part but lets not forget he was KO'd by Johnny Duploy,Howard Smith,Billy Ryan,Larry Frazier,Duane Bobick,Mike Dokes and beaten by Rodney Bobick among others. I was at the Bill Sharkey fight in NY and I thought it was close. Weaver was rugged but I do not see him getting anywhere with the likes of Ezz Charles, Walcott, Moore or even getting past Bob Satterfield, Nino Valdes or Harold Johnson. Bob Baker may have been a tough fight for him because they were more technically sound then Weaver. Weaver was easy to hit and stiff and muscle-bound at times. Marciano would get to that chin and it may be early or it could be late. Mike had power but was hurt many times in his career. He would not fair well in the 1950's IMO

Better puncher than Jersey Joe Walcott, Archie Moore, Joe Louis? I don't think so. All three men are in the Rings top 100 punchers of all time list. Last time I checked Weaver didn't make the list.

Rocky would stop Mike late in the fight, Weaver would be game but he is not going to be able to make the distance vs Marciano.. Weaver would make it a war and have his moments though, I will go with Marciano tko12..
