osacar was pretty much done by then. oscar was a part-time boxer and a part time promoter. and floyd had just finished fighting oscar and hatton then while cotto had just beaten mosley. it was the biggest fight at welter and in the whole of boxing then just like the pacquiao fight is the biggest in boxing now. in both cases, floyd retired.

i'm pretty sure every fighter fights a fight they expect to win. atleast at the top level if not lower.

tom dallas was sure he'd beat price and that's too english prospects.

why would someone take a fight they knew they'd lose? that's tantamount to diving.

campbell was the man but there are two reasons why pac won't be fighting him as his first fight at 135.

    1. campbell was already fighting guzman at 135 back then. that was the time when guzman first failed to make the weight and was a very big news to ESB and the boxing world back then.
    2. pac was already scheduled to fight david diaz as his first fight at 135 back then but decided to postpone it to fight jmm at 130 for superfeatherweight championship.

Also Mayweather when asked if he would ever fight Hatton in UK said 'hell no people lose when they fight there'

So not only at the weight he knew Hatton had major trouble with but also at the place which was most to his advantage.

I'm not sure about official betting line of if he was an underdog (though i'd be willing to guess he was, but just a guess). But let's not forget pre fight Oscar was taking HUGE heat for picking such a small fighter to go out with a win. I mean this was the Oscar who still had people saying he beat Mayweather at 147 (i believe) then fighting Pac. Post fight it turned to it was a weight drained Oscar.

    You are like saying:

And after all that damage, Floyd still fought Ortiz who quit against Maidana.

A beats B, C beats B, C doesnt get the praise coz A already beat B blah blah blah

So you would gladly pay for Pac-Judah, Pac-Baldomir, Pac-Devin Alexander, and Pac-Cintron??
Great. I'll let Arum know, and I'm sure he would accommodate you.

Floyd's body was breaking down. The highlighted it in the 24/7 with his multiple injuries. He was gonna retire after Baldomir, but changed his mind and then changed it again to fight Hatton. How many times was he supposed to retire and come back. H finally just tuck to his guns after Hatton.

    you're a formidable foe :smooch
Yes no fighter wants to get robbed there. Ask Dirrell

British judges would have loved to rob Floyd, but no judge got the chance :thumbsup
