At least everyone can agree that he is taller than the listed 6'3.

 

Yes, seeing how he's got height on others who are listed at 6 foot 5, like Austin (6 foot 6?) and Thompson , Wlad is merely downplaying his real height.

I say 6 foot 6.5 is about right.

Quite ridiculous that an entire thread has been perpetuated by the slip of a (non-native) tongue. Very silly. It's blatantly obvious the guy's at least 6'6".

All people lie about their height esp athletes and actors. I laugh every time someone says that I am 6'4'' or 6'5'' when in reality I am only 6'2''. The public is conditioned to accept lies on all levels. How tall is Wlad? who cares, all I know is he is taller than most boxers and that's all that matters.

 

He would have shrunk since then though, as the spine shrinks and back posture muscles weaken leading to stooping.

On UK TV Wlad repeatedly claimed he was 6foot5. It is curious that there are so many differing measurements for his height.

When I saw the headline for this forum that's exactly what I thought. If he's 6'5 then they've had some damn short heavyweights and exagerated their heights as his opponents. Dude's gotta be the 6'6-6'6 & 1/2

 

So Wlad might not BS the answer or downplay it for the "bigger instead of better" (to paraphrase) criticism Wlad receives. I have a buddy who does the same thing, he's tall, gets asked how tall alot, dude says "oh like 6'5", stretch him out, measure him, he's just shy of 6'7. Not saying impossible Wlad is 6'5, but especially with the photos if he's 6'5 they've lied about the heights of his oppponents (i.e. Thompson couldnt have been 6'5 if Wlad really was). And thats possible, promotors could inflate how big both guys are just like wrestling. Look at Hulk Hogan vs Andre. Billed as 6'8 against 7'4 when in actuality it was more like 6'5 vs 6'11.

 

It doesn't matter in terms of boxrec. It just matters in terms for a good discussion I think. I could care less if they had it right or wrong. I just don't see him being 6'5.

 

Yes, I recall when Vince McMahon had Andre stand on a box to make him look immense next to Vince.

But Andre was massive enough in real life, but they made him to be this mythical greek giant sized dude.

But Wlad understating his height (likely the case) is kinda the reverse of the Andre the giant marketing ploy.
