Maidana is no Gatti. And I like Maidana. Katsidis is no Gatti. And I really like Katsidis. Gatti had something special these guys just don't have. In his darkest moments in the ring, he could find ways to keep going, and ko his opponents. Once you figure out Maidana, and Katsidis (so far in their careers) and adjust, they are ****ed. You could adjust to Gatti, but he could still find a way to land a ko shot at any point in the fight.
I agree. hard to find fighters who truly 100% become more dangerous after they are hurt. special fighter. rip gatti.
Maidana will never be Gatti. Back when people first started overrating the **** out of Maidana (that honeymoon period after the Ortiz upset that lasted about a year) I took a bit of flack for suggesting that Gatti was the more skilled boxer and that he would beat Maidana h2h, prime for prime. I feel vindicated by history. ...here we go...http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=288462
Beating him soundly and having been "about to go down in the later rounds" are not mutually exclusive.
Gatti did not win all the time but people admired him for being a warrior. It's not about winning for one to be compared to Gatti.
the two are in different leagues gatti is miles better than madaina you cant compare these two im afraid
