Hes a good fighter, but how the hell did he get a title shot when he had 21 fights against almost all very weak opposition? The light middleweight division had much higher ranked fighters at the time. The WBA must have bumped him way up or something. Also, what do you guys think about him?
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=20110&cat=boxer Seriously what is going on how has this guy get his title shot? In boxing there's a lot of fighters who don't need to earn anything
I believe the eliminator was between Nilson Tapia in Panama, (WBA based in Panma). He was the mandatory to fight Nobuhiro Ishida, but was ducked for a year or so. Finally goes to Mexico to fight Rigoberto Alvarez (the older brother of Saul Alvarez) and just made his first defense against David Lopez who was on a good string of wins before last night. Trout didn't have a promoter for a long time and he goes on the road to fight whomever, whenever. I don't understand the problem? He just beat a durable well ranked guy in his first defense.
Olympic gold medal winner in an era where Pattersons team were trying to keep him away from the mobs fighters...
Boxing is that same as everything else in the workforce. It's all about who you know, and connections.
