Trinidad could hurt Pavlik bad if he caught him with a left hook and probably finish him, but I'd lean towards Pavlik making Trinidad fight off the backfoot and winning within 8 rounds. I think he has the jab to keep a distance and the size differential would be huge. A very dangerous fight though...
Trinadad is too old now, and has taken too much time off. Plus he was best at welterweight. It could be brutal. Overall Trinadad is hall of fame type, and Pavlik is yet to show how long he will last, but it would be bad match up. I also think he should even be fighting Roy Jones now.
No harm meant but Tito dosen't have the greatest chin, and with Pavlik's freakish power it could be ugly:hat
Pavlik by KO. At welterweight, Trinidad was great. At MW, he was just good. I think Pavlik would basically bounce too many rights off of Trinidad's face and Trinidad would wilt. And I love Trinidad, the guy was a friggin beast in his prime, I just don't think he was a middleweight. And fighting a BIG middleweight with power and solid fundamentals, I don't think he would do well against.
Pavlik is more of a tactician than people give him credit for. I think in the Taylor fight he was headhunting a bit too much...Aside from his power and volume of punches Pavlik never seems to lose control of a fight..no matter what style is put in front of him Pavlik appears to make any fighter suffer...this would include Tito:good
Yeah, after Taylor hit Pavlik flush with 50 punches Pavlik went down and got up in 2 seconds, never went down again but continued his relentless attack. Taylor meanwhile went 24 rounds with Hopkins but Tito got KOed by Hopkins. Why do some people have trouble understanding that a knock down is not a knock out and getting hurt aint getting beat. Pavlik brutally crushes Tito. Sorry Pavlik aint Joppy or Reid or Vargas.
Perfect Answer. The other day, there was a thread were almost everybody dimissed Pavlik against Halger. At age 25, Pavlik is way ahead of Hagler at 25. He is undefeated, the recognized middleweight champion, incredible KO percentage. I believe we see superstar in the making in Pavlik.
