**If DAVID HAYE KOs W. KLITSCHKO, could it revive USA's interest for heavyweights ?**

Keeping telling yourself that. Two years before you even joined ESB, I was pro-Wlad non-stop. Feel free to check my post history.

My opinion changed from optimism to realization. Look at my post history and you'll see lots of "I think Wlad can do a good job for boxing" type posts and that simply hasn't been true. I only want what is good for the sport and that, sadly, isn't Wlad.

HBO gave Wlad every opportunity in the world, far more than the average American fighter gets and he blew it.

 

The problem with that is that Haye retires in October, so with only one more fight IF it can be arranged on time (bearing in mind how frequently Haye has fought so far) theres little point in all the US chatshows etc.. getting interested in him. Why raise the profile of someone who won't be around in a few months and might not even have one single fight left?

If Haye wants the maximum pay for the shortest career he's left it too late to go over to the States. Should have gone there for either the Ruiz fight, or a voluntary against a high ranked US contender instead of Audley Harrison.

are you insinuating that wk should have saved the hw division? this is the worse era(last five years) ever for this division while the lower ones have thrived. seriously, we now have haye and adamek as contenders. during the lewis/holy/tyson era these guys wouldn't even have been gatekeepers. golata/rahman/morrison/mercer would have knocked both these clowns out. wk has done the best he could with what is available in this division.

No, I don't think Wlad should have saved the division. He did, however, blow his chances. You can count the number of fighters who have been on Conan in one hand. You probably have the same number of fighters who were given a similar backing by HBO.

Wlad blew that. Could he have saved the division? No. Could he have done a better job? Absolutely. The turning point for him was the make or break fight against Ibragimov. That fight received so much media attention, it was crazy for a fight with two non-Americans, one being an obscure fighter. That was the night Wlad either proved his dominance or he blew it.

And we all know what happened.

The result? Wlad was later kicked off HBO, boxing was 'banned' in NY, HBO no longer wanted anything to do with the heavyweights and both brothers went back to Germany.

 

Your opinion changed when you decided to jump on the Haye bandwagon after his move to Heavyweight. And that's okay, everyone is free to root for their own fighters...just admit it.

Out of Wladimir's last 13 fights (all wins), only TWO have went the distance, Ibragimov, which I will say, Wladimir should have got him out of there, no doubt. The other fight was Peter I....that was definitely not a boring fight.

Wladimir is simply dominating the competition. And he will dominate Haye too...can't wait.

Actually, my opinion changed when Vitali came back. That was the turning point and it was when it stopped being Wlad's time and become more about personal greed.

You say only two have gone the distance but only one was the defining fight for Wlad. That was the Ibragimov bout and it was a horrible fight. That's why he killed any interest. It's his fault entirely.
