100% Delusion the best line is the one about when/if he is champ there is no point in Groves looking to fight again.
I struggle to see how he had a plan B and he is still obsessed with the fact that he thought Groves was going to just throw bombs.
but Jimmy went 'and still undefeated' ... and I thought 'that's me, that's me!' And DeGale going on about the champion should get the benefit well firstly, that's bollocks. Whoever wins at least 7 rounds without getting dropped or any points docked should get the verdict. Doesn't matter if it's the champion or the challenger. Secondly, Groves was also the defending the Commonwealth champion in that fight. They were both defending their titles, it wasn't as if DeGale was the champion and Groves the challenger.
The arrogant ***** hasn't learnt anything in defeat then. "I heard him say down the line we can box again but he knows he ain't going to. If it was me, and people were saying it was that close a fight, I would fight him. I would do it. But we are two different people and we're on two different journeys now.." "I will still be world champion. This hasn't changed my path; I will still be a world champion by the end of next year. And you know what? If I am and Georgie Groves comes knocking on my door? Sorry... you've had your chance. That door ain't opening."
Its a shame because he has a ton of natural talent and guided properly he will compete at world level. FW said immediately after the fight about getting rid of back slappers, going on this interview that hasn't happened yet.
If he said he thought he won, then ok. It was a close fight. But if he thinks he won clearly... laughable. As if he's immune to negativity.
