I think Gerald McClellan makes quick work of Carl Froch in about 3 rounds. Once G-Man had you hurt he could finish you. Froch never faced a puncher like the G-Man and I believe the G-Man would win this match -up. Agree or Disagree?
The Gman would be too much for Froch I'm afraid. Too much speed and too much power for him to deal with. He would overwhelm Froch early and stop him IMO. But if Froch could somehow weather the early storm he would have a chance in this fight.
I'm going to go with Froch on points. Froch has shown himself to be a very good boxer, operates a good jab, got respectable power and his combinations are good. Now, I don't think G-Man is finishing this in one punch and while he could find himself hurting Froch in spots, especially early on, if this fight isn't over soon then its starts to favour Froch more and more. Froch wins after being down.
I love McClellan and think this would be a superb matchup. But let's not undersell Froch here. Gerald had Benn out early in their super-middle fight, but Benn weathered the storm and then we know what sadly transpired in that epic fight. I have no reason to believe Froch couldn't do the same with his chin, height and reach. That's not saying Froch is better than Benn, just that he would have every chance of surviving, and prevailing just like Benn did. Awesome matchup though.
Froch is way too open for McClellan's right hands. And these aren't Taylor or Johnson's rights. These are concussive knockout blows.
McClellan would out-box him for a few rounds, just like he out-boxed Liles and Moorer in the amateurs, and then time the overhand right. Goodnight.
No he isn't, not close, and he doesn't have the defense to avoid GMAN's bombs or Benn's infighting ability. Remember Taylor putting Froch down? Imagine what GMAN would do to him
Benn was a class above Froch. Froch has great physical advantages over opponents in range, reach, awkwardness, chin and shoulder tendon strength, and is very, very relaxed. But in terms of talent, my God. Benn was streets ahead.
Yes Benn was the better man talent wise, but as an overall package i don't think he was streets ahead. Don't forget Froch won a bronze at the worlds as an amatuer, which isn't an easy thing to do. Aswell as being tough Froch as some smarts about him. But i biasedly agree Benn is the better man.
