Is it just me or does the build up to the Haye fight seem relatively low key so far?

Sure, there's a while to go yet, 16 days, but it just seems a little more low key, less intense, than say the Hatton vs Mayweather fight and a million miles away from the level of old of say a Bruno vs Tyson.

In fact, it seems to be getting less attention so far than when the fight was announced first time around.

I guess it will all shortly click into gear.

In a way yes. When you compare it to Skys last box office show the advertising is low key. But in fairness nearly everybody knows about this fight and Sky will no doubt crank it up with a week or so to go. Still though that advert they have for it is ****.

    Nobody cares.

Sure the hype with the casual's will pick up closer to the fight but something has obviously gone down wrong as the general public (anyone not a very casual boxing fan couldn't care less about this fight.

Valuev was obviously a better opponent, he was tall.

It sells itself no need to constantly plug it

Where I work I dont speak to anyone about boxing but plenty people speaking about this fight.

Is there a 'behind the ropes' episode planned?

Loads of casuals I have met are asking where they can watch this.

The council estates of England will all be tuning in!!!

    This has been raised before.

like a few have said the fight sells itself, but id imagine in the next week or so, promos etc will be all over tv etc. its only a matter of time 17 days i believe!

It'll be Massive I the next fortnight! I expect billboards and every national paper to have it up and running! It's gonna be the biggest boxing event (media wise) we've ever seen I think ;-)

    Hope so!

Been watching a lot of Mr McKenzie over the last few days.

No wonder you knocked him down with the step round left hook as he is massively open to that shot!

Stick to your boxing and you will make this an easy fight. Just ram that jab out all the time and then rip to the body in close. Stick to that for 4 rounds and he will have sweet FA left and you should be able to get the grandstand finish.

Don't get involved in a tear up.

We will all respect you more if you can stick to your boxing.

    Good luck mate!!!

There has been a bit on Sky Sports News during the day recently.

The hype will go into overdrive in the final two weeks / ten days.

It has been quite low key. If I'm correct it was around about this many days before 2009 fight that Haye pulled out and it certainly seemed there was more hype before the pull out then than there is as many days before just now.

  13. On a similar note I have noticed if you book the fight with box office on the day of the fight the price goes up a fiver, has this ever happened before?

Bad move imo, could put a few latecomers off booking it

Nah man, when Haye/Wlad was meant to happen in '09 on Setanta there was no buzz at all in the UK.

Yesterday things started picking up with Haye's media workout day.

The HBO Face-Off thing will get things going I reckon, the next 2 weeks will be mental.
