I never had questioned punchstat numbers before. But when the punch stat numbers had Joe. C landing 232 punches on Hopkins I had to say BULLSHYT!! If Joe C. landed 1/2 of that I still would have been surprise. I say 1/3 of the 232 they say landed I can go with. What do you all think?

...It's not like they said 232 good punches...

  3. I think you've got a bad case of sour grapes my friend.
Calzaghe dominated that racist idiot Hopkins and the stats show that.

he threw and landed a hell of a lot it was this workrate which beat hopkins not power or speed so much. Not a great fight by any stretch is hopkins would have thrown more he would have won but 3 clean right hands a round aint gunna cut it

You think getting a split decision which many people thought he lost, is dominating?

  6. I forgot judges never get it wrong in boxing.... Wasn't that one judge well known for favouring black fighters?

Anyway, do you think he lost it and do you think it was close?

Then again,if Hopkins had stopped having long cheating breaks every time JC was beginning to dominate it would have been an easy win for Joe:D

The compubox stats in the Calzaghe fight were a f'n joke. What constituted a power shot for Calzaghe were nothing more than weak arm punches and slaps. The scoring for that fight was a complete disgrace. Just goes to show how misleading statistics can be in a fight. Hopkins won that fight 7 rounds to 5 with the first round knock down. Period.

Don't know about that judge. But what I do remember, was Joe's dad telling him he needed a KO going into the last round, otherwise he lost it. Such was the worry of Calzaghe's corner that things weren't going their way in the fight.

I think it was close, but I had B-Hop winning by 2 rounds. I tend to favour ring generalship and clean, effective punching, over swarming, pitter-patter shots that, at best, graze the foreheads and shoulders of an opponent. What helped Joe scrape through the fight, was his workrate, and workrate alone.

i thought that more with the mayweather-de la hoya punch stats. mayweather was credited with so many punches that were blocked by forearms and gloves. not so much with joe vs bhop, joe always throws a lot of punches, you know he always going to land a few even if they don't look hard shots, they still count. i was surprised when they announced it was the most ever landed on hopkins tho.

Read Calzaghe's autobiography. He says in there that his dad always makes a mountain out of a mole hill in the corner.

    This is a FACT

Another FACT is that Joe landed more punches on Hopkins than anyone ever has
