I have to be real I'm a HUGE Floyd fan. But I may have to agree with his Uncle Roger on this one and say Floyd can't have another 2 year layoff ( closer to a 1 1/2). Floyd stays in shape and is a gym man to the Max but as the years go along I think it maybe wise if he didn't do again unless he fights a journeyman type fighter. To the "haters" he deserved a vacation. I was just saying for future references. What do you guys think?
I think you're a crack baby. Floyd hasn't been awfully active for years, he's obviously always in good nick regardless if he's got a fight coming up or not.
you do though because he's the best. Get over when he whipped your boy. He's the best in boxing he'll be right as to whip manny ass after the Ortiz schooling.
hopefully floyd is going to make this fight with pacquiao, its arguable him not fighting him yet is a smart move, because i remember it was a $25 mil each, and as time goes on and people demand it more, its like $50 million each. If mayweather wins it without taking too much damage, he should have another year off while keeping in the gym until he next big fight comes along and if he loses just retire with his money
Roger also said that Floyd's been to the gym but not in the gym. Does this mean he hasn't been keeping in condition? I hope not.
:rofl But on a serious note, I agree. People are continuously bringing up the inactivity issue just so Floyd can get a pass on delaying the Pacquiao fight further. When the fact is, Floyd prefers to fight as little as he does. Inactivity isn't bothering him like most are trying to make out. We saw this against JMM, and we'll see it again against Ortiz. Uncle Roger's and Jeff's claims of Floyd shouldn't go into the Pac fight straight after Ortiz, and that Floyd doesn't have to fight Pac at all, are just plain bull****.
Floyd said he has been working on his upper body and playing basketball but nothing boxing related until the camp starts.
It will depend on how he looks against Ortiz. If he dominates like he did in the JMM and Mosley fights then there will be no question that he is ready to take on Pacquiao early next year. Roger is simply giving his opinion and probably has some other reasons ($)why he wants Floyd to be more active. He is right in theory though Floyd is "cut from a different cloth", baby.
I agree! Floyd maybe that special fighter that only HE can do that. Personally I expect Floyd to be a few more huge fights in the near future!
