    Vitali quiting against Byrd is the only blemish in his career... only an idiot can criticize the way he fought and lost against Lewis... and had he not been cut, Lewis was on his way to getting KTFO. If you want to hate on VK, hate on him because his style is boring.... but to say he crumbles in the face of adversity is bull****. If you were to say Wladimor, than I may be a little more inclined to agree... however getting knocked down a bunch of times and coming back to beat Peter I don't think you can really say that about him either in all honesty.

    Lewis would have got KOd? Vitali had thrown absolutely everything at Lewis at got no where. Lewis was growing into the fight with his lion heart. "If not for the cuts" is more bollocks, the cuts are results of punches, which in the sport of boxing is a pretty big factor.:lol: Seen as Vitali could barely see, plus the fact Lewis was coming on strong and had won the last 2 rounds, to say Vitali would have won that fight is ludicrous.:deal

    And what do you meant to say he folded in the face of adversity is bull****? He DID quit when he first faced adversity.:patsch Byrd was coming on strong and had just had his best round of the fight. Do you think if Byrd just sat on the ropes in round 9 (like mast fat disgraceful Klit opponents usually do) that Vitali would have quit or carried on?

    Actually fuk it. There's no current lineage to contend with. Not like the briggs scenario in 97.

    If the ring decide they'll sanction vitali v sanders and wlad v chag who are we to argue?

    I mean yeah, it was a slip but clearly Sanders rocked him in that first round and it wouldn't be out of line to rule it a knockdown, i certainly wouldn't have complained

    So I just watched the Vitali-Byrd video and I have some questions.

    Did Vitali throw in the towel or was it the corner? The last thing Vitali says is "it's ok" but next we hear Fritz Sdunek declare the fight is over.

    Vitali was clearly dominating the fight but Byrd was getting to him--landed plenty of good punches in the 9th. Vitali had never been past the 9th. I suppose he or his corner felt going 3 more rounds was too much risk of injury.

    Vitali is either already injured or on an off night in the 9th round.

    No it was Vitali saying "I can't go on, it hurts too much." His cornermen were saying "it's okay."

    Not sure if they meant "it is okay to quit" or "your shoulder is okay, carry on."

    Ok, went back for a closer look. When the camera is on Vitali, he speaking to Wladimir, and we don't hear what he says. The German speaker is Sdunek, and right away he says "es geht nicht mehr" and later "es hat kein Sinn" so Sdunek seems to have come to the conclusion to stop and Vitali and Wladmir didn't object.
