Well, that would be a very valuable information for Sauerrland to have, if it is true. Should they really go for a Kessler-Bute fight in the future, they have a better knowledge about Butes willingness to travel.

If Bute publically offers Kessler a unification @ a neutral venue then i will have 100% faith in Bute.

I also think that fight would be 50/50.

Until then Bute has it all to prove not Kessler.

Kessler will fight for Stieglitz belt then exercise his emeritus status and unify as soon as the Super Six tournament is over.

Fair play to him, it's probably the smartest money move on his part.

Bute, 30, fought two fights in a row on Showtime, in late 2008 and early 2009, but he was not invited to join the Super Six when Hershman put it together in July 2009. Hershman said his exclusion was nothing against Bute. He said the tournament was very difficult to put together and "the only way to get five promoters and six fighters on the same page was within the existing relationships I had. It wasn't that I didn't think [Bute and Bedard] were worthy or trustworthy. I just didn't have the depth of the relationship I had with the others.»

:blood:verysad.....It was very well documented that Ken Hershman (Showtime) admitted that Bute was never invited. He was quoted on that and I have a feeling you alreeady knew. :hey

You should not use "full of ****" while you're the one writing things full of ****.

I repeat, and that's coming from Showtime's boss, that Bute has never been invited to join the super 6. There is even a complete quote on another post. It's from Hershman. I invite you to search for it.

Bute won't organize himself a fight in Denmark. He has to receive an offer. Sauerland said last week he would make one. He didn't. Is it Bute's fault? Beside that, I'm not speaking of Kessler but Sauerland.

Pascal just lost a close fiht in Montreal so no' i'll have to disagree with you that Kessler needs a KO to win in Montreal. Find me one fight of Bute with bad scores in it. You won't be able to. The Sauerlands have a long history of robberies in Europe so I don't think you can bring that as an intelligent argument. Bute has more chances to be stolen in Denmark because of his promoter.

Of course, Bute has to prove himself. That doesn't change what Sauerland just did.

End: if you have the right to say Bute cherrypick (when you obviously don't know all the efforts his team made to make some biger fights), I have the same right to do the same about Kessler. He is not God, you know, and his promoter just cherrypicked. Kessler's past won't change what just happened.

I understand the frustration of Bute fans, and I actually rate Lucian and would be excited to see him in some big fights. However, the point that has already been made is a very valid one. Mikkel Kessler has proved his mettle as a fighter by fighting away from home with his belt(s) on the line, and by entering the super six. I think that gives him a right to choose his path. Also, I would not simply assume that Bute can fight the winner of the super six. Mikkel has emeritus status and may get to fight the winner in a unification of 3 belts, bout. I guess it might depend on who wins the final, as if Froch wins I can see him definitely wanting to have a rematch with Kessler in England. It's unfortunate for Bute that he never got into the super six, as it has left him marginalised somewhat. I don't think this is a good reason for Bute fans to hassle Kessler though, especially given his past record of taking the big fights.

The other point I have made a few times is that the process for the potential Stieglitz vs Kessler fight is moving quite fast (the WBO has given 2 weeks to make a deal prior to going to purse bids). As Mikkel has already stated he wants to fight again in September, a fight with Bute could be possible after that, say early next year. We don't know when the super six final will be held, but I would imagine it will be late this year so not a huge time difference between bouts. We will see.

Ignorance to what is truth is the problem here. No one should hold it against you or others thinking the same but please keep an open mind and don't come to pre-conceived built in beliefs without knowing facts...

First of all, Interbox has a history of letting their fighters travel. They've been in existence since the mid 90s. Eric Lucas went to fight in France against Tiozzo, the US to face Roy Jones & got robbed in Germany against Beyer (Sauerland promoter).

They've let Bute fight at home for now because of economics alone. No fighter presently in the US can consistently draw 14 000-15 000 fans every fight. The Canadian dollar has been on par or above the US dollar for a while now.

They have a deal in place with Showtime to face the S6 winner in Madison Square Garden.

Prior to the S6, they agreed to fight Carl Froch in Nottingham but Bute decided he wanted to immediately rematch Andrade because he was shitted on by everyone to do that rematch ASAP.

Golden Boy won the purse bid to make Andrade-Bute II. Guess what ? They elected to fight in Quebec because of economics again.... They easily could have made it in California if they wanted to....just like Hopkins vs Pascal could have been in the US but they wanted to make more money fighting in Montreal...once again !

In 2009, Interbox had agreed to meet Jermain Taylor in the US on HBO but Froch ended up beating Taylor and put an end to that...

Last year, Interbox had a deal in place to face Kelly Pavlik in Atlantic City on HBO but Martinez beat Pavlik and HBO said no more fight...

Interbox has said in the media that if Sauerland brings as much or more money to the table for a Kessler-Bute fight and Showtime agrees to show it in Denmark even if it's not live, they would agree because they want Kessler right now !! They have history with Kessler (Lucas vs Kessler), and especially history with Sauerland ( Lucas vs Beyer robbery)...

They don't mind traveling when the money is right....just like why Dawson & Hopkins are now thinking of fighting in MOntreal because of economics !!

I don't blame Kessler for having little to no interest in Bute. I mean, exactly who has the guy fought and beaten?
There are bigger fish in the pond for Kessler.

Bute is like the modern day Calzaghe, except we exchange Wales with Canada. Bute will probably get aggressive in fighting real elites once they get old and gray. Is Frank ****** managing Bute?

If Saurland can pull strings and force a quick title fight with Stiegltz, then it is a good move. We shall see.
