lol how old are you? 18? 20? I been watching boxing for a very long time! Yes I watch some MMA too but unlike some who have never watched it seem to plunk every fighter in the same bracket. But there are guys who may lack great boxing skills do atleast have athletic ability, cardio, speed, power. Look how far Pascal (ok lacks cardio, but then it's even more impressive what he's achieved!) has got with those attributes yet he is pretty limited in terms of boxing ability which of course Hopkins exposed but guys with such attributes can cause problems. Now take guys who have that level of strength, speed and athleticism and add a huge weight, strength, reach and height advantage over a class boxer but is some 40 odd pounds lighter, its not going to be a foregone conclusion that the boxer KOs the MMA fighter.

I've read even more absurd things here like Pac knocking out a heavyweight who may be 6ft 3, almost a foot taller, who has one punch power and tons more reach. So i'm not the one that lacks knowledge when it comes to combat or even just displaying some common sense!

    Pac 140-145
Dos Santos 220+ won 90% of fights by KO)

I've heard some really bizarre things in this topic! Yes Pac ****s up the majority of MMA fighters in and around his weight class and going above a little. But as the quality of opponent goes up and the measurements too, it's no foregone conclusion. One clean blow could most likely put him in a coma. There are weight divisions for a reason folks!

I understand what your saying, and your logic way of thinking, but honestly...You have no idea how good a boxer's hands are. Think about it like this bud....
Let's say me and you both lift weights. I work my entire body proportionately, do a lot of different exercises. So let's say I workout 5 days, and never do the same muscles twice within a week (so like monday might be chest, tuesday legs, wednesdays triceps, etc, etc).
You on the other hand live, and breathe BENCH PRESS. So let's say you workout 5 days a week as well, and the same amount of time I workout. Instead of working legs you bench. Instead of doing cardio you bench. You don't do it so much that your body just tears down, but any other exercise you do is done to improve your bench press.

We do this for 1 year, and we started with the same strength. I GUARANTEE you are going to bench press a hell of a lot more than me! Granted your legs might be small, you won't be in great shape, or have anything much else going for you, but It's because you put 100% of your time in Bench press when I did other ****.

Same goes for boxing, and MMA. Pac has been BOXING since he was a small boy. GSP *works* on boxing, but he's basically a wrestler, and has to be able to do everything well (not just throw hands) so he can wrestle, throw hands, throw feet, takedown, stop takedowns, work on submissions, etc.
If GSP would of devoted all his time since Pac to boxing maybe he could of been P4P #1 boxer in the world, but he didn't, and he's one of the best at MMA instead.
So no, the 40 pd weight division doesn't mean much in this case honestly. He's nowhere near Pac's league enough to merit his size actually being a factor in BOXING.
Look at Worlds Strongest Man Pudzinaski (SP). Just cuz he deadlifts 900+ pounds doesn't give him the worlds strongest punch. Punching comes from Tecnique, hips, speed, angles (don't see it coming as opposed to seeing it coming), and just doing it over and over again. Pac isn't that hard of a hitter, but when you add his speed, and hitting people to where they can't see the punch is what makes him deadly. 40 extra pounds doesn't hurt, but whenever you can't effectively use 40 pounds it's of no use (such as why GSP's weight is not much of a factor).
Like I said I understand what your saying, but you don't see to many athletes crossover in to other sports, and be spectacular. They can be *good*, but rarely spectacular. Especially at a sport like boxing.
Name me a great star of any other sport that made it GOOD when they transferred to boxing??? It's hard to say there's no incentive for a sports athlete to crossover to boxing whenever people like Pac, & Mayweather making 50 mil on 1 fight. I know not all of them are making that, but I guarantee Micheal Jordan, Wayne Gretsky, Emmit Smith, Fedor, Hershel Walker, etc, etc could have made a shitload of money in boxing on NAME ALONE (that is until they got killed in the ring).

Pac in a straight up boxing or striking fight then yes, but put Pac up against Aldo in a striking contest he getting eaten up.

Depends on style, Pacman would beat Lesnar standing, but there are good fighters out there in MMA who could stand smash the little we fella.

But there are fighters who have been doing some form of combat sport so of course are not gonna be totally devoid of technique. In GSP's case he has been doing Karate for a long time and so to add some kind of form along with his other attributes will still give him some chance. You just cannot discount a stronger, bigger man with technique against a great little guy. GSP has shown, at least against limited opponents to have a very good jab, good timing and decent footwork. I know a lot of MMA fighters do not have even a fraction of a boxer's skill set. I should know, i grew up watching Tyson and co in the 80s. As I said Pac would **** up a lot of MMA fighters who are lacking in boxing fundamentals but I feel there are some fighters out there, simply based on style and the size advantages, together with athleticism and a good work ethic could give him problems.

One would have to be a fool to think that a guy who if he was in the UFC would be a bantamweight or featherweight at between 135-145 fighting monsters weighing in excess of 170 for welterweight and 185 for middleweight. Technique or not, if you get hit, it's gonna ****ing hurt. Granted some guys have such poor technique that they will be hitting air, but as I said, you take a good athletic big guy with some boxing technique, that's a hard fight for a smaller man. Especially if he can't hurt him and he can walk through pac's shots. yes a good many cannot do that, but again we're talking about guys who outsize him, and may have a good chin. Yes a boxer's punch can travel up a couple divisions and Pac has shown to take his power up to light middle. Even that is at 154. We're talking about going beyond that, no guarantee that his power is effective enough to really hurt the bigger guys, and then what? If the MMA fighter is able to stand and exchange with him and just throw hands, wild shots, who do you think would be coming off worse??

Again, keep in mind, I said Pac, instead of talking of talking on welterweights and heavyweights, the best way to showcase boxing would be to take out a champ at his respective weight. That's why I said someone like Aldo. Like Pac he's a skillful fighter in his own sport and yes I think in a straight up boxing fight Pac would come through it.

Pacman v Manhoef? 185lbs has fought up at light heavy and heavy

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cw0BlIM5nS8&feature=player_embedded[/ame]

Pacman v Alves @170 (he walks around near 200lbs and makes a crazy cut)

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OauX40Y8_1A[/ame]

pacman v rampage jackson 205lbs lhw, enters cage much heavier.

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxyvdpk3WDU[/ame]

Pacman v Dos Santos around 220lbs KO artist

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_lIHHONS88[/ame]

Pacman v Overeem HW, about 6ft 5 81" reach 260lbs of pure muscle, KO power and technique

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hL1rVPzbM0[/ame]

Are you all ****ing kidding me???? These are some of the elite strikers in MMA and have knocked the **** out guys in their own divisions. It will look like men against a little boy. One shot from any of these live dawgs, the outcome would most likely be brain damage! Even in boxing, the physical advantages of these guys is absolutely immense! Pac would get thrown around like a rag doll, walked down into a corner and get his **** ****ed up badly!! good luck trying to get away from their reach too. Very very dangerous proposition for Pac to fight guys who can bang up at much higher weights. Some of you folk are very ignorant and deluded and lacking in common sense/logic.

Your logic is a guy with decent tecnique, good fighter, whatever you want to call it (such as GSP) would hurt Pac if he lands some punches with gloves on, and I do agree somewhat. First, I don't think he lands many punches on Pac, the punches he does land won't be that solid, and honestly who's the last guy GSP knocked out freakin cold (even in MMA)?! If it were Anderson Silva...A guy with at least good tecnique, and good punching power for MMA standards with a lot of knock outs, but what has GSP done to warrant him against Pac really?
The other side of the coin you don't look at...Is you don't think Pac can hurt GSP? I'd guarantee GSP couldn't see, and brace himself for all the punches, and angles. I don't give a crap if a guy weighs 300 pds on the street, and Pac sucker punches him with a 3 punch combo (that of course he doesn't see) that dude is going down. Your face isn't made to get punched by knuckles, and your body damn sure isn't made to take punches that your body can't brace for.
That is why Pac has knocked out much bigger guys than him, and keeps them honest. Speed is power. This is why he'd knock out GSP with 1 minute, and GSP might land 2 punches within that minute...

Exactly! Wtf kinda stupid talk it that? These guys ktfo fighters in their own division. Some of these muppets still have early ufc in their minds. the game has moved on since then. Although we've not seen the best of boxing in mma its coming slowly. But you take a big mother ****er with speed and explosive power and decent hands he's gonna **** up a small boxer beyond all recognition.

Lol how is this a debate? PAC murders Gsp in a boxing match. Same for Aldo in a kickboxing match. PAC started off inmuay Thai and Aldo's muay Thai ain't that great. It's good relative to other mma fighters. Like how people say dos Santos is a great boxer.

That fight would be over in a matter of seconds, probably in MMA and Boxing.
