In Poland it would be like:

    1. Football (but it is losing fans)
    2. Winter sports
    3. Track and field
    4. Voleyball
    5. Basketball
    6. Handball
    7. Speedway
    8. F1
    9. Boxing

But most of these disciplines can be participated only in a part of the year. So boxing should be placed higher. For instance in the winter there isnt football, speedway, field and track, F1 so boxing could be even top5.

It's still big. Boxing comes in second right behind Football by a margin. Alot still rep Chavez hard, but theres alot of top boxers in mexico like Jhonny Gonzales, Ko-chulito, Canelo, Edgar Sosa, .... many more

Is this in terms of annual earnings? What about Formula one, those guys earn some serious money too.

I most def think Boxing is a top world sport.
Its one of the few sports that is world wide.

Its at least top #2 or #3 in most hispanic countries. Behind Baseball in PR and DR.

In the US its only big in big boxing cities/states: NYC, North Jersey, Orlando, Oxnard, Kansas City, etc.

    1. Football
    2. Basketball
    3. Baseball

some other sports and then Boxing, but it differs in practice popularity and viewing popularity. Its much better off on the second.

ROFL Nascar, and Cricket is number 2 on the real list because of the 1 Billion mad Indians who worship the sport. (That's Indians from a place called India. It a whole other country Forrest.)

Boxing probably is in the top 10. Really though, only real way to find out though is that you get a large sum of people to take a poll and go from there. Other than that it's all speculation and opinion based.

    your completely wrong dude .
boxing is stronger now in the UK than it ever was.
first of all there are more people particapting now in the schools and clubs than ever before (great article in guardian about it a year ago)
second - guys like hatton, cazaghe and haye are doing record ppv buys that dwarf the ppv benn eubank days after the first fight. even khan is starting to do business on primetime - 100k for his last show against mcloskey on a periphery cable channel was good numbers and he also sold out 18k seats (even though 8k came from ireland)
third - when two kids fighting for a british belt can sell out the O2 and have their fight broadcast live in Times square, something is going right
fourth - the amateur scene is unreal at the moment. the crowds at the ABAs are great the last few years and the standard of amateurs the UK has coming through has never been higher.
fifth - contary to what people think there is more live boxing available now to customers than the early 90s. although the big fights were on network T.V , there was very little coverage of domestic fights. at the moment the british domestic pro scene is very active with cards on every week on TV. we did nt have that in the 90s.

boxing in the UK is going through a renaissance period
