    Hi guys

    Just wondering if there is any such thing as a device that u can some how put on the bag so when you make impact on the bag it measures your punch and or punches power etc or is there any other way of knowing your punch power.... etc etc thanks

    yes there is a way. i worked with a boxing program where we had a device that measured some units of force at impact (i belive it was custom made and not commonly sold on the regular market).

    Power=Force x velocity
    (velocity is displacement [or distance] / time)

    so, to find true power you would need a device to measure force, the distance travelled and the time it had taken to travel that distance).

    or ... you could work on technique and simply trust that you're getting more "powerful" :D

    Or you could perform a dumbbell/ med ball throw for an approximate idea of your ability to generate force and it's progression

    Yes, such a thing exists. I used one once in Holland.

  9. I think ive fractured my hand on one of those pub ones, for 4 weeks it's been aching and difficult to train with. The machine where the speed ball looking device falls down and you hit it to get a score of your power shot. On the plus side I fell just short of the high score.
