It was in a Boxing News special on the fight.

    A quote from Thompson

"Before i sparred him i knew he was a smaller guy, i knew he was quick, i thought he was maybe a little wild but hes actually wild with a gameplan and he really tricks you because he makes you think hes not technically sound but he is more technically sound than you think. His speed and overall power surprised me, he didnt punch like a little guy. He's power compares very favourably to Wlads.. If i was forced to say who hit harder i would give David a slight edge - not pound for pound power, just power, period."

Well again, Thompson was his sparring partner so he was probably giving this slight edge to Haye being biased. Betcha Haye didn't knock Thompson the **** out like Wladimir did :D Matter of opinion really. Mercer said Lennox hit harder than Wladimr but other people have said Wladimir hit harder than Lennox including Manny Steward. It's all opinion

Thanks I never read these quotes online, they weren't quoted anywhere that's why I was wondering. Thanks for digging it up!

If what you say is true ( which more than likely it isn't ) I can see why Haye and Booth would go for that. Win the first fight than go straight to Sky box office for the next 2 fights and split the cash with Sky with Wlad not getting his deserving share.

If you felt you were going to win it would make sense to do that, but atlas you likely just pulled this story out of thin air.

No it's not the point but it happens right? And for Thompson to CLAIM that Haye has a slight edge in power Haye must not have been holding back too much. Lol! Point is Wladimir dropped Thompson like a sack of potatoes but Haye supposedly hit him "slightly" harder? What ever ...it's not worth arguing about. Both guys can crack but my money is on Wladimir in the power department.

Both Wlad and David will knock the other out if they connect. It's that straightforward. Contrary to many I see this fight being in David's hands. Wlad is a very good fighter but he is formulaic and he has been taken out before. David will have to fight the best, most disciplined fight of his career and he simply cannot make the mistakes he has made before. If his tactics are inappropriate, he will lose, and probably lose badly.

Do not underestimate Adam Booth. The man masterminded a George Groves victory against an opponent who was, in boxing terms, significantly better. Booth's gameplan took away all of DeGale's advantages and I have a feeling he will spring a similar surprise on Wlad.

It's not as if he is trying to unravel a puzzle like Floyd Mayweather. Wlad has been beaten before. None of his recent opponents have had the qualities to take advantage of his weaknesses. David does. I can't wait!

I can't wait too man! Manny Steward is a mastermind himself and his specialty is training taller fighters to beat smaller ones with reach, range, jab etc. It will be exciting but in my opinion Wladimir will deliver an explosive and powerful knockout.

You dont have to be a genuis to train someone who has physical advantages over virtually every opponent do you?
