Awful performance by Rhodes

It was poor but Carnelo was the much superior athlete. He could and should have implemented a more aggressive gameplan, ie a high output, but it wouldnt have made much of a difference to the outcome.

i was positive he was gonna do well. damn 60 quid down. i suppose canelo just really upped his game , as all the potentially great fighters do when they face better opposition!

 

He just followed him around the ring while getting hit. Alvarez would beat the crap out of Chavez, Jr., and surely knock Cotto out!!!

He wasn't too bad really in the cold light of day. He did try. Perhaps not as often as we would have liked, but you have to remember that he took quite a lot of punches early on and that both hurt his confidence to let his hands go and also took a lot of steam out of him. The biggest tell tale sign he was miles out of his depth was that he was actually getting countered when he threw. So Alvarez was leading off, and then if anything came his way countering with precision also. Rhodes isn't used to getting countered at domestic level because people can't deal with his own speed.

 

Alvarez was too good, too fast, too strong for Rhodes. Would like to see him in with Martinez.

 

agreed, u cant blame Rhodes for last night coz people so badly over rated his chances, he just had no answer for Alveraz. i still think Alveraz can go through 1 or 2 more gears when pushed, he just cruised last night and in the last went for the Kayo and got it
