Story on the scene says Denton will go to South Africa to fight Chris Van Heerden (http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=371022&cat=boxer) for the vacant IBO WW title. Why? Anyone even heard of this Saffer? It's a pointless risk to take with a meaningless bauble on the line.
It's not a bad fight to take, as long as he doesn't start calling himself a world champion if he wins.
I wouldn't hit the panic stations. Frans Botha and Corrie Sanders are probably the only decent white Saffers...ever. On sheer odds, this guy is probably a can.
Saw his last fight where he he got a ud against Mwelase (Mwelase's previously lost a sd against Lovemore Ndou). Heerden won a close fight using superior workrate, didnt stop for the 12 rounds. Heerden looks durable, can take a punch but does'nt seem to have 1 punch ko power! Not seen anything (only really followed boxing since I have been in SA) of Vassell to comment. Rodney Berman of Golden Gloves (SA Promoter) is trying to get a few British guys lined up against his boxers for this bill (he did try and get M Hatton but was too expensive). Am hoping this comes off as would like to see a few Brits over here being an expat.
allows you to challenge anybody, minimal fees and electronic rankings...and also big names old them. it's not prestigious but it a belt that can get you places. or not with jawaid khaliq
