    Hagler 7-5.

Leonard looked very good throwing amazingly fast power puff shots for about 20 seconds to close most rounds but that does not win a fight IMO.

Leonard won. I never understood the controversy surrounding this fight, I've watched it a few times and always see it as a clear SRL victory.

This post is nailed on solid gold truth regarding hagler v leonard :

It was clear after Mugabi that hagler was in decline , leonard picked his moment wonderfully , he pulled off the Ali trick of stealing rounds with last 10 second flurries the clouded the judges view of what was really happening .

leonard won the boxing match but hagler won the fight .

Contrary to what Legendary Nights said, Hagler was never going to retire after Mugabi. Hagler-Hearns II was pretty much signed and sealed before Leonard threw his hat into the ring.

The absolute best Hagler could've hoped for from that fight was a one point loss. I don't see how you get Hagler winning 7 rounds unless you give points for just coming forward.

The fight is actually closer to 8-4 in Leonards favour then your score of 7 rounds to Hagler.

Hagler lost the first 4 rounds clearly, it's not even a debate. After that Leonard only has to get 3 more rounds in the bank to win, which he did.

I'm guessing you're giving Hagler 7 out of the next 8 rounds, which is ridiculous for anyone scoring it objectively.

The truth is Hagler lost that fight and it was due to his poor strategy of thinking he could outbox Leonard. It's his own and corners fault for letting Leonard get into his head and thinking he could beat Leonard at his own game and by stupidly boxing out of orthodox stance. Hagler did come on, but Leonard held on to take the fight cleanly.

Oh and btw, contrary to popular believe Hagler was actually closer to his prime then a welterweight Ray Leonard who was off for 5 years was to his.

Judges do too, for forcing a fight.

Effective aggression, not just forcing a fight.
