Semms like it will be this one insted of Bute vs Kessler. I'm cool with this one.

I want to talk about height. According to Boxrec Bute seems to be 6′ 1½″ while Pavlik is 6′ 1″. From what I have seen in ring with comun opponents Pavlik seems taller then Bute , or is just that Bute doesn't fight tall and fights with an arch back and his legs arched?

I can see this going to the cards with an wide UD win for Bute. Ppls that says Pavlik is gonna get KOed are deluded. That might happend with the awkord punches of Bute but the chances are slim.

I can see Bute fighting on the backfoot and Pavlik trying to get to him. Pavlik look rusty and had looped punches, but I think he will look better come next fight.

Let me know what do you think!

Interesting match-up ! with the kind of fighters Bute face in the last 2 years it's like his been training for Pavlik! all come forward ,agressive punchers! I Think Bute would win a wide UD or a late TKO 11-12! no i'm not deluded :yep

I think Pavlik is taller than 6'1" but Bute does fight with a wide stance & bends down a bit.
I think they're pretty similar heights

I would say Bute UD but with his right hand down a lot, Bute is vulnerable to the right hand of Pavlik. But it's gotta be a better Pavlik than the one we've seen against Lopez...

Like I said, it can happen but ppls are talking about it as it's a done deal. If Bute will hurt Pavlik he will go for the KO for sure, as he is a good finisher, but I think that Bute will take Pavlik seriously if the fight occurs and try to get the safe UD win.

So, bottom line : Pavlik is a bit taller then Bute !? Agreed??

Bute isn’t to difficult a style for Pavlik. He’s a leaner, bit like Wladimir, but with no back foot game along the lines of Marquez. Its just pure defence, his style isn’t exactly rocket science. Output, speed and quick movement cause Pavlik problems, if the guy is relatively still he’s not on bad turf.

Watched Bute vs Bika not long ago, ok no-one looks good against Bika, but it was a fairly dreadful contest. I’d say Bute is more open that some realise and he’s definitely not a scientific boxer. Level above Miranda’s and Andrade’s but wouldn’t say Bute is genuine A list, he’s been fed more trash than readers of John Grisham novels.

Pavlik's pressure game and closing of the ring should work. Plus, his superior output and workrate are key factors. Worth remembering Hopkins and Martinez are a step above almost anybody in the game.

The low hand of Bute is a twist for me.

    I mean :

    - works in his advantage as the opponents son't see the punches comming from under aka Roy Jones
    - he controls distance and has good timing and he is defending the right side with the sholder and his vision is better without the right hand so up. if you notice in almost every Bute KD/KO the opponent misses by a bit or barely touch him when the KD/KO counter is on the way.

    - the other side of fighting with his right hand so low is that he is hit with some punches that he would not supposed to be hit with, and if he gets hit alot by some eliter fast oponent, that might cause him big trouble.

You don't consider he was hurt in the first Taylor fight?

Zuniga also hurt him. Pavlik can be hurt but he has an amazing capacity of recuperation. Bute is a best finisher than Taylor though.

OK yes. Forgot about that. I'll edit that. He was hurt in the 2nd, but he bounced back and came strong. I was trying to point out that he is grind and durable. I don't know is he still has it.....
