1.Ask anyone whos been sparring or fought Ricky in the last 12 months and ask them if hes world class.
2.Apart from me,everyone thought Ricky would get done by Martinez!Who was right knobman?
3.Jimmy Tibbs the most knowledgeable man in British boxing said that Burn's was class,so what you think means absoulutly **** ALL!
4.I'd love the fight with Broner,just to shove it right up you when Ricky beats him!

 

Was just wondering, would you take the Bonner fight if it was to take place in the US?

 

Why should Burns have lost to Martinez? at least explain why to add a bit of substance to your comment

Broner has beat PDL and Litzau in his last 2 he should justify a shot when you look at Burns 3 defences

Your baiting the guy, no wonder he's taking offence. In your whole post the only thing you gave Burns credit for was the victory over Martinez and even at that you had to try and discredit it, by saying jetlagged flew thousands of miles blah blah.

The fact you try to throw Burns's fights against Arthur and Johansson in his face just shows you've got a major chip on your shoulder regarding Burns.

He fought those guys when he was learning his trade, took tough fights that very few do these days. Lost them but it was worth it for the lessons he's learned and now he's putting those lessons into practice.

Do you honestly think there's anyone more frustrated at the list of opponents since winning against Martinez than Billy and Ricky? of course he's going to defend Burns, you expect him to come on a forum that the promoter obviously views heavily and criticize him?

If they suddenly turn round to ****** and say give us the big fights or we're gone who is there to go to that would do a better job? Matchroom have came on the scene now but for a long time there's been nobody.

Cheers, people are too quick to jump on the bandwagon in this place.

 

Burns never gets the credit he deserves he went from commenwealth champion to beating to divisions no1 in many peoples eyes so i think he is still devoloping as a fighter and is being protected because he went from nowhere to world champ and dont think no superfeather wieght and britian can touch him allthough many posters like to jump on the band wagon and put him down remember people saying Foster jr would take him before he got battered of the belgain

 

The thing is though, there isn't any point in trying to ''protect'' him, because the division is so poor. If he was at a weight class where all of the champions/top contenders were top quality fighters then fair enough, give him time to acclimitise at that level. But that isn't the case, and most, if not all of his potential adversaries really aren't up to much. He could conceiveably beat, say, Fana, but for what ever reason Fwank ain't willing to do it.

That's why he get's so much stick at this point, because he's in the division which is, for me, the weakest in the sport. We're at his third defence now and it's been pretty poor opposition in all three now(assuming he beats Cook). I'm nowhere as extreme as most of the others when it comes to chastising his reign but surely you can see where someone such as myself is coming from with this?
