Tyson would kayo Norris inside of five rounds. The Page that Norris fought, his skills eroded many years ago.
Norris was a good fighter, but he never had the size and strength to deal with Tyson and no way was he going to box him to a decision. He was the perfect opponent for Tyson when he faced him, but Norris' manager Mike Marley forced Norris to ***** out of the fight and put Tyson further back on the comeback trail. It seemed, even when Tyson did try and make a go of it, he was snake bitten. Technically Tyson did hit him late, but it was so close to the bell, I dont think it was intentional.
Imo,Tyson was past his prime BEFORE he went to prison. He'd neglected himself badly. You can see the decline in his first fight with Frank Bruno in '89.
Tyson was intentionally fouling to bully his opponent, punching on the break and not only was it a punch on the break which is illegal anyway but I think it was intentionally after the bell imo, he started throwing it after the bell rung so there's not the excuse he'd already started. Norris did land heavy on his knee too, not sure if it was enough to damage it, or if he was hoping for a DQ or just didn't want to get knocked out.
RoosterC, only a notorious Tyson-Hater like him could pick the totally featherfisted defensive-boxer cruiserweight Norris to KO Mike Tyson.
I dont think so. The Norris fight was approached to get Tyson some rounds and much needed work in a fight. Tyson's offense was pretty calm in the opening round with him looking to counter and box a little more. I dont think Tyson looked to bully Norris around.
