Valero vs Maidana wouldve been a great fight

I think Valero would of hammered Maidana into a corners retirement around 10 or 11

Sidenote ; i fancy Guerrero to do a job on Maidana

Maidana is a slow plodder , and by and large is a static target , Guerrero IMHO is going to school him

Morales picked Maidana apart with virtually no legs !!! , it has to percieved that Guerrero is no longer a FW , more an averaged sized LWW , who has relatively good power with excellent combination punching , i dont see Maidana's march forward style outgunning or overwhelming Guerrero at all .

I honestly think Guerrero is taking a comfortable UD here , and im going to say this , i think he's going to look better than Khan did doing it :deal

 

Mosquera was a world class fighter ... Just relatively unknown... Besides most great fighters have these type of fights on the way up and up being better afterwards

Delahoya- Dropped vs Valenzuela,Campanella tough fight with Molina but improved big time after this.

Chavez - vs Adrian Arreola very close fight with solid but hardly elite contender. Chavez became top notch after this.

Hearns - Harold Weston looked like he could pull an upset, but freak eye injury ended that.

Pac- Fights at fly and after 1st fght with Morales

Marquez- Improved after Norwood

Holmes - better after Norton

Tyson- After Tillis

Meldrick Taylor after Draw with Howard Davis

Salvador Sanchez after Beccera?

Hopkins - aftrer Jones and draw with Mercardo

Ali - Doug Jones, henry Ciooper

Marciano - lastarza

I coudl sit her all day naming great fighers that struggled or loss to lesser fighters.. Only to improve alot after.

 

Anarci I agree to an extent with what you are saying, but after those fighters you listed experienced adversities, they went on to improve and hone their skills, aswell as stepping up their level of competition. In the years following the Mosquera fight, Valero didn't really do either of those 2 things. He became a bit more patient in his offense, but his style didn't really change much, he was still a very crude fighter, with noticeable fundamental flaws. He was more methodical like I said, but the Valero of the Mosquera fight was not too different at all to the Valero that fought later in his career. Plus he never substantially stepped up his level of competition. Who was the best fighter he fought after Mosquera? Demarco? That was 4 years later too. Most of the fighters you listed stepped it up much sooner, and improved at a much more steady rate. Valero never showed those traits.

 

It would of been epic... maidana is a savage but Edwin Valero was the barbarian King.. he had too much speed and power for maidana.. EV would of ended that fight violently after a war!!

Valero is really a waste of talent, he could have been a very good fighter and champion, instead he ended all that potential in a act of rage.
Him vs pacquiao would have been fight of the year, had oscar not picked pac this fight would have happened for sure.

 

Would have been a great fight... I favour Valero in a war.

Maidana is no joke though, and I think people are massively under-estimating him after his mediocre performance against Morales. If he comes in focused and well prepared (ala the Khan and Ortiz fights) I think he takes Guerrero.

 

Emmanuel, the great pretender would simply pretend he was not hurt like he did in the Margarito fight then proceed to demolish Valero! Hey, wait... it's a fantasy fight and we know that Pac doesn't win fantasy fights so It would be Valero by brutal KO in the early rounds!
