One of my favorite fights...ever.
He should learn to stretch something, anyway....(just kidding GC)
Shavers didn't floor the great Ron Stander...who was a lower case Bonavena, to be charitable. Frazier couldn't budge Ringo at all,...and I think...
Probably right on the money Richard...closest thing to what I'm about to type.....
Great interview...thanks Bokaj
EE, glad to see Graham and Giardello...2 guys who I wish showed up here at least as much as Carnera.
Good pick.
Lennox Lewis
I know I've left a few out...so I'll be back with some more good guys of mine....like Joey Giardello, Dlck Tiger and Gene Fullmer.
Besides Floyd Patterson, I've always admired, and had some sympathy for Eddie Machen...I'll always admire his fearlessness vs a prime 1960 monster...
I don't think that people here in this forum actually "hate" Carnera, rather, I think it's more of a case of us resenting the persistent and busy...
Richard, my 2 favorite boxing movies...and the I think they're the best ever as well, are "Requiem for a Heavyweight", and "The Harder They Fall".
Lovely, golden and nostalgic era for me.
Ingemar Johansson.
GC, you're younger than our very own Dubya Dubya???
