I'm in the group that suggests 1g per lb of weight, but there is no "correct" amount. I usually make sure I consume more than 1g/lb just to be...
To add to that, make sure you're getting all your calories n. A lot of people don't know it, but the average person burns 2000 calories a day...
Definitely gonna follow. Near the same weight (around 228ish)
