You think Sonny's combination punching is on the same level as Louis's ?
I would favor Louis, but with Liston's power, I wouldn't feel sure about it. Joe's a more precise puncher, and he's much faster. But I think Sonny...
Frazier looks bigger than Dempsey in terms of the weight he could have held.
Liston
Ali, Louis, Holmes, maybe Foreman or Lewis
I brought up the Holmes fight because I think it shows that Joe really thought Marvis could take guys like Holmes and even Tyson.
Chuvalo liked his style of fighting, but he felt that if Tyson would adjust his infighting he could get better leverage when someone tried to back...
No, if you look at Joe's face after what Larry Holmes did to Marvis you can tell he was stunned. I think Frazier really thought Marvis could beat...
None of them were considered big punchers like Frazier, Foreman and Wlad though.
I don't think Wlad has the skills to trouble Ali. He's taller and he weighs more, but their reach is fairly close. Ali's chin, speed, and footwork...
Are you assuming that Foreman doesn't tire or that he has the stamina to go the distance ?
I agree that Foreman had punching power at, or likely above the level of Lewis. But I don't think he would be much stronger than fighters today...
What makes you think 250 lb. Lennox Lewis or 250 lb. Vitali wouldn't be as strong as Foreman when both are bigger and very physical fighters ?
