Donaire has excellent technique, a joy to watch.
You'd be better off sparring actual boxers that's for sure.
Keep a close guard and learn to defend yourself before going all out offensively. Always rehearse the basics, no matter how dull it seems to get....
Like znaak said, a handshake is usually what happens. I do often talk to my opponents after a fight, only one of them did not want to speak to me....

Yep. I'll be 35 in May so as of January 1st 2011 I am no longer allowed to fight. A shame but I'm glad I did it when the chance presented itself.

It doesn't improve your footwork, only practising footwork will do that. What it can do is help you get less flatfooted and condition the muscles...
