depends how often you fight. between fights every WE you can 2-3 weekly run 45 min on a moderate pace. 1-2x weekly do interval runs, 4x600m in 2min
its just one important part of training. mix it up:do slow distance running to get your lactate down, interval runs for your stamina

the question is not what training-method you choose,its about how you do it. running is definitely essential,as bagwork,pads,sparring etc....
