Your right mate, I'm bit surprised. I thought I'd be the only one choosing Holmes tbh lol
For me personally, the time when Holmes was noticeably slowing down was 83 - 84 . Even if Larry had faced that Cooney two or three years earlier...
Quite an achievement.
It was a tough hard challenger for Holmes at the time. I know Cooney was no Witherspoon or Norton but he was dangerous and powerful all the same....
If any version of Holmes is going to beat Tyson, I'd say it could be this one. Then again, this version of Tyson was on fire!
I like this one for Hearns too. Tommy wouldn't face any danger as such here, he'd get him self a nice decision. Only thing is,in his next fight...
At light Heavy 15 rounds?
No way?? That's sad news. Rip warrior..
That last punch that put Braddock down and out for Louis, unbelievable. Took his shots like an hero. Seem to remember they had to throw a bucket...
If he goes for it in around 83 - 84 then yes possibly. After that, he'd soon lose to Spinks so I doubt it.
Can't believe it's thirty years since this epic but tragic fight. There's an article in the mail on Sunday about the fight, showing Gerald now....
