Nobody knows Floyd Mayweather globally, Ali wasn't only a global superstar, but probably one of the best known faces on the planet at one time. Floyd Mayweather couldn't carry Muhammad Ali's jockstrap, literally.
You could make an arguement for Floyd being greater than any fighter P4P. I could make an argument for other HWs over Ali. Floyd is a fantastic unique talent that I think when retired people will hold him higher
thats why floyd alway saus he is the best ever TBE. he says ali was TGE the greatest ever. floyd is by far and away the best ever sooooo eaily. no comparison. there is NO ONE that can be argues being better than floyd. and the ONLY reason floyd cant clain the greatest ever is because he has NO true rival that was able to push him to the furtheres limits. and the most important reaon is he was NEVER beaten (never CLOSE to beaten) where he had to work his way back. in todays world (fuccking ludircrous) to be great you have to lose then you are made great during your comback. floyd is literally too great for his own good
Ali and Leonard fought the best that the sport had to offer in their primes. Leonard ducked Hagler for a while but besides that he took on all comers from what I can remember. Mayweather has passed up soooooo many could be great fights, he has passed up soooo many fights that the public was asking for...its just comical for anyone to think he is on their level. Like somebody said above "more skilled, but not better." He reminds me of the kid at school who had no problem beating up the nerds and people of smaller stature but whenever it came to fighting another kid who was known for kicking ass he would defer. I love Floyd, I am a fan, but its obvious to me he cherry picks bc he is scared to lose his 0. I know he is great, but deep down inside he is only doing this for money, and keeping his undefeated streak is what is keeping the money coming in. When it is all said and done he will be ranked high, but I dont think higher than Ali or Leonard...they were warriors who feared nobody for no reason...their honor meant more than the cash.
