wut's the mother f'n point if he always fights at under 150? seriously, pac haters..answer the question?
If a few pounds is no big deal, then why have catchweights at all? Why not allow cotto to just come in at 147? Margo at 154? It makes no difference right?
These guys above are physically bigger, stronger and have longer reach. These "catchweights" allows Manny to be on equal ground against his opponents. If you were at Manny's place, you would **** your pants if you face someone in the ring like Margarito who outweights you by 20+ pounds.
Yup. Then Floyd at 147 and then Martinez at 154. Pac is expected to fight them all at different weights. Pac is that great.
I just lost a bit of respect for the Pac team. I'm a fan but if you can make 135, which would probably take a lot of work, then at least limit what you regain by making 140 for JMM. Oh well. The weight discrepancy shouldn't be too bad but it's the principle.
If pac wants to fight a fighter at a different weight class, don't you think he would have to go to those weight classes?
This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Pac's gets to eat full meals before the weigh in only to fall short of the 147 limit by 2 or more lbs in each of his ww appearances. He's the ww champ and the man with all the leverage so draining himself to make 135 at this stage of his career to fight lesser draws in no way benefits him.
So why then fight JMM at 144lbs? Specially seeing as how he weighed 142 on the morning of the Mosley weigh in?
Oh yea. You know those 10 pounds this welter is going to have on you? This guy who knocked you down four times when you were at the same weight? Don't worry about it, just come in at 135. atsch
He isn't making lightweight because he's the man, and he calls the shots! I'm a big Pac fan, but of course he wants an advantage. I also think that JMM will be much better than against Mayweather. In that fight he realized ballooning up didn't help him one bit. So, I think with the fight with Pac he won't bother trying to put on much, and just come in light and in shape.
