    OK?

    Are we all accepting this?

    Everybody on the same page?

    ****ing...finally?

Time after time, Cintron gives us every reason to believe he isn't the elite he was made out to be during his initial rise up the ranks (and the next rise up the ranks...and the next...)

Time after time, a swarm of apologists tell us that because of Excuse A and Rationalization B...well, we haven't seen the best of Kermit. He can come back better than ever. He's gone through a rough patch but that's over now. He just needed to "find his center", get himself focused, what have you - but once he does that, ooh boy! Look out, world!

    He just needs Manny Steward.

    Oops. Nope...

    He just needs Ronnie Shields.

    Oops. Nope...

The guy has five losses - officially. He should really have seven.

That is 7 of his 11 noteworthy opponents in his career.

He has two decent legitimate wins - both by decision and competitive. (Angulo and N'Dou - the former dangerous but not that difficult to outbox with a bit of movement and the latter just old & above his peak weight and already growing disillusioned/disgruntled with the sport, bitter after his pair of losses to Malignaggi and already halfway transformed into "Losemore N'dou"...)

His secondary wins are Feliciano (which, whatever... - and he labored to stop Jesse...) and a TKO over Prince Ouali when both he and Cintron were fern green.

That's it. Take away the Smith gift, and he has four even remotely notable wins (two that aren't really pushing the limits of the term "notable" - and those two weren't especially dominant victories).

Lucas Matthysse's brother is a joke, so don't even mention that very flattering highlight reel knockout on Cintron's ledger.

King David Estrada? Also not very good, and Cintron went life and death with him.

He's done nothing to ever convince the world of his supposed elite talent. He's done everything to demonstrate that he lacks the tangibles AS WELL AS the intangibles to be a top dog in this sport.

His boxing skills are passing fair at best. Good enough to stick and move his way to a decision over El Perro (with an assist from good old Influenza) but poor enough to see him clearly schooled by Carlos Molina, and to a lesser extent Antwone Smith.

His power - at welterweight was alright. He was never the hardest puncher at 147, but he was up there. Sure. At light middleweight his power is barely noticeable.

His chin at welterweight was average. At 154 it's outright poor.

He's got the heart of an aphid.

He doesn't adapt well. When things don't go to plan, he comes apart at the seams.

Can we NOW finally stop hearing about how he's a threat to everybody in his weight range? Can we stop kidding ourselves that tweaking this or that in the gym, or changing his diet, or climbing a mountaintop and meditating for a week is going to suddenly UNLOCK HIS TRUE POTENTIAL and see him shine pretty like the beautiful mythical Cintron unicorn his fans always knew he could be?

Can we just ****ing realize that all he is right now is a tablespoonful of stale resume stuffing?

"Hey, so-and-so beat Kermit Cintron. Isn't that the boxer-puncher guy from PR who used to be a welterweight prospect and on TV a lot before spiraling down to the sewer? Eh, I guess that's an okay win..."

    :deal

Man I use to think based upon what ppl said about his ko power in both hands he would give cotto a loss by ko if they ever fought but he is as **** as cow paat!

Even though the stoppage was premature he was looking for a way out, at the end of the 4th round it was bloody embarrassing I mean what da fluff was he doing?

I the 5th I think he knew he might as well go out on his shield but he tried to turn his back a few times, as Steve bunce was saying on box nation: why does he always show he is hurt?

If you don't want to fight then get lost, but what a cherry pick he was for the ginger ninja

Ten years of hype now - ten years of constant television exposure and being hyped up by delusional fans as one of the best in his division (some even said p4p!! :patsch) and what to show for it?

According to The *DRTOCO Canelo moves ahead of Sergio "Marsupial" Martinez P4P after his one sided more convincing beatdown of Kermit Cintron.

And yes IB I am finally on the same page with you. Pretty amazing watching Kermit fall down the stairs the last 5 years.

Always said he was a joke. And now people are finally accepting it

When he was with manny training at Wlad camps, you could see it. Even is sparring. As soon as sparring got tough he would quit..." oh my back, my hand" etc

No heart what so ever and blames everyone but himself. Steward was good for him, but blamed steward... Now shields...... He should just step aside...... Now nothing more then a journeyman

The last two weeks magnified just who controls who gets titles shots.

The promoters themselves bribe the alphabet groups, and then you get two "never were's" the last couple of weeks fighting for Championships.

Manfredo and Cintron are two fighters you fight on the way to the title, not for or in defense of the title.

..........I must remember that this is boxing I'm talking about, where losing to top contenders is how you get a title shot.:-(

Have you ever step in the ring or boxing gym alone? We all know Kermit is not the strongest esp. mentally. But then again boxing was not his first choice growing up. Started late and at least made some noise. Heart no heart he capture a title and step in the ring with the top fighters and even with those mose avoided and fear such as Margarito, Williams, and even Molina. There some guys out there that are consider P4P the best, but have yet step in the ring with guys that Cintron did. He did what he could with the little time he had to learn the sport of boxing. What other fighter would have even travel down to Mexico and face Alvarez other than Kirkland at this point???

He became world champion 4.5 years after taking up boxing right? that's pretty amazing, and even though he doesnt have big wins in his resume, he is one of the few fighters, maybe the only one, who has faced Williams, Margarito and Martinez when they were all near prime. Actually, he did what most of the slobs that post on this forum can only dream of doing.
