As expected, Alvarez was just much more tougher than him and gutted him completely. I respect Cintron for fighting it out a bit while it was becoming very clear he was about to be stopped by Alvarez. I also respect him for going to Mexico to face Alvarez and facing Margaritox2, Martinez, and Williams despite the outcomes. TBF, other than troubling Williams, Cintron has done jack **** at 154(apart from beating Angulo which was like two years ago) and this was another cherry pick for Alvarez(Matthew Hatton for a belt? REALLY!!?!!) I'm just tired of young fighters getting spoonfed especially when they have 30 something to 40+ fights. In other news, much respect to Broner & Russell jr. Good fights although short!
Wow, boxing and its fans.... Come on IB, u know better than that!!! The guy was good, he is just shot now. He is not the first fighter to keep on trying after his best days r past him and will not be the last. To tell u the truth, it takes some cojones to take on the boxers he fought!
Will Floyd even face 1 out of these 3 fighters mention above Even Molina is being avoided by some of the best.
I knew he was never the same mentaly after the reid fight.....the guy had a perfect physique for boxing, natural punching but mentally was way way breakable. Theres a guy in this forum named Conditioner101 that can explain the downfall of Kermit personally. I wish Kermit a happy life with his family, he just wasnt born to give it all in the ring...
Yes. So? Bit of an understatement maybe? So the **** what? Same with Antonio Tarver, but Tarver had a MUCH better career and showed 100,000,000 more heart than Cintron. Tarver's a warrior. Cintron's a puta. ...a vacant title on a silver platter against Mark Suarez. Defended against WALTER DARIO MATTHYSSE and JESSE FELICIANO. Emanuel Augustus fought a lot of top guys and "avoided" people too. Funny enough - he never got anywhere near Cintron's amount of hype and was probably the better overall fighter. That's my whole point. That's my problem with Cintron - hype disproportionate to what he brings to the table, and constantly getting undeserved second chances while other boxers are passed over. Don't preach to the choir and hide behind the old "you have to respect anyone who climbs through the ropes" cliches. He loses that respect when he jumps the **** BACK through them! (and otherwise acts like a *****) So? That makes him another John Ruiz, always getting undeserved shots at the best and always falling short. Are we supposed to admire him for that? Funny, because Ruiz takes a lot of flack for it. Why is Cintron so precious that he gets held to a different standard? Again, so did Milkdud and some others. They did far more in less time. They actually had a fighting mentality and a passion for the sport, which makes them far easier to repect. Whoever the **** wanted to get paid. FFS, two shot welterweights flew across the Atlantic to get beat up in Mexico! atsch ...and I have shitloads more respect for Matt Hatton and Ryan Rhodes both than I'll ever have for Kermit "Basura" Cintron.
NO! No more excuses. He just never was good. He was okay (and now that he's shot, crap). Never even close to elite. Cotto would have smashed him. Mayweather would have annihilated him. It was ridiculous for him to ever be put into hypothetical match-ups with the cream of the crop. He's an ESPN2 FNF level boxer, who's had way too many chances on the bigger stage.
Why Molina is not getting a fight s beyond me? what does a hard working boxer need to do to get a fight? I mean Molina was supposed to be facing Alvarez and not Cintron
It's despicable. It's whence originates my ire towards Cintron (who every time he's stepped into the ring has looked like he was reluctant to even be there before the opening bell) and his RIDICULOUSLY delusional fans, who still cling to 7-8 year old hopes that this guy can box and/or punch his way to the pinnacle of the sport which was never going to happen.
I thought the French were gross enough eating frog's legs. Your appetite for frog ****-and-balls is just beyond the pale. :barf
Oh, and nice job not refuting any of the facts in my post, instead just calling it garbage. Factual garbage. What bias of mine are you referring to, exactly? Against boricuas? Hmm, no...that doesn't wash. Cotto is awesome and a true warrior; I've nary an ill word for him. So what you're calling "bias" is in fact just my disregard for Cintron as an individual - which has been substantiated and justified throughout this thread. :deal
