his promoter canelo promotions said they want to give him a title shot next vs rigoberto its probably gonna be for the interim wba 154
rigoberto is a very strong young fighter but his chin isnt perfect, campas needs an early ko if the fight goes past the 5th yori boy has no chance

Just realized he notched that 99th win on his 40th birthday yesterday. Happy birthday to Yori Boy, still tough as ever! Too bad he probably cant get a fight with JCC jr, even at his age I think it would be a winnable fight for him.

Rigo is indeed a slow-starting head-of-steam type fighter who charges up for the late rounds...but I don't know that Yori needs an early KO to win. This Alvarez is nowhere near as good as his brother. He lost every round to Trout, and IMO got a gift against Ishida (and without the knockdown wouldn't have gotten the official nod).

I really love that fight for potentially win #100.

Rigoberto is fighting Anthony 'The ****' Mundine for the WBA interin LMW title, so that's off the menu for Yori Boy, unfortunately.

Any news on his next fight? Win number 99 was back in August, thought something might have been announced by now...

I hope he settles that lawsuit, get's a nice retirement payment, knocks out #100 and retires.

Always been a Campas fan, never the best, but always came to fight.

We tried to get Yory Boy to fight Jose Luis Gonzalez on our fight card last year. His managment backed out of the fight at the last moment however.

The chance for THE milestone comes next Saturday night, 11/19!!

The opponent is no cupcake. Inexperienced, but dangerous Jorge "The Demon" Cota is 10-0 with nine knockouts. 90% KO ratio!!!! :scaredas:

Right up until the end, Yory Boy has his giant cojones slung proudly over his shoulder.

The possibly historic event will air on Televisa on the undercard of Fernando Montiel vs. Victor Terrazas.

I've seen that for a few modern tilts, actually. My guess is that NWS just serves as a placeholder for lazy Boxrec editors when they know someone is reported to have won on points but don't have the detailed information like the judges' names/scores or even whether it was MD/UD/SD/TD.

Why they wouldn't just use "PTS", which you also see sometimes, is beyond me. :?
