Not satisfied with reaching the century mark, Luis will be gilding the lily as he looks to cross the threshold and pass it as he goes for #101.

Is he importing some tomato can to Navojoa? Nope. In true Yori Boy fashion, he is hitting the road...all the way to Australia, to fight Les "Lock 'N' Load" Sherrington in his hometown. :shock:

Now, Les is no world beater and is quite squarely capped off at Aussie domestic level...but he was riding a streak of passing fair wins before his last blemish, stopped in a round by a Pak-istani punching bag with a 7-24-1 record and over whom he already had a win in a bizarre rematch. Les was knocked down and broke his calf bone, and was unable to continue due to injury. Other than that, all his stoppage losses came in the first few years of his career and the last in 2006.

Yori Boy's best hope for win #101 on the road will be to hulk up and score stoppage #80.

 

Update:

While he lost to Sherrington last summer, Yori Boy did make it to 101 last month with a split decision over Gabe Martinez. :happy

 

Three years and ten matches on from the creation of this very thread (in that span going 6-2-2 with three knockouts), Yori Boy is putting in mas trabajo, undertaking contest #122 and looking for his 102nd hand-raise.

It almost seems a shoe-in, given that he is taking a rare soft touch in notorious tomato can Mike Lyubarsky...in an eight-rounder in small-town Montana, of all places.

As of tonight, Campas officially will have boxed in the pros in twenty-eight consecutive years - never with a layoff of more than a few months.

Hopefully the dire opponent is a sign that YB just wants to go out with a lasting positive memory, coming off a pair of anticlimactic results in back to back technical draws.

 

Remember early on when it was thought you, Farmy, were on your way to becoming a top poster? :verysad You did not make it... but like Campas, you can hang your hat on stubborn, tenacious longevity well past the point of growing feeble and irrelevant. :good

 

Apparently there was a late opponent swap. Campas and Lyubarsky fought on the card last night, but with dance partners other than one another.

Campas was victorious and Lyubarsky was kayoed; they just weren't in the ring at the same time when those events occurred.

Campas got his 122nd W but his eightieth KO will have to wait; he took a UD6 over local hometown stiff Danny Gonzalez (http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=271444&cat=boxer), originally scheduled to meet fellow Montanan stiff Jesse Uhde.

Lyubarsky was toppled by another hometown stiff from Billings, named Jesus Vallejo, a welterweight.
