    Love this post.

Yory is the type of cog that makes the boxing world go round. I'm glad he's going out on his own terms.

Tonight is the highest weight he's ever fought at, correct? Supermiddle...

Asikainen stoppage was complete garbage if I'm remembering correctly.

Out of curiosity, was he ever even knocked down? Quite the feat if he wasn't.

I just came home from the fight. Campos had scored a knockdown while Bonsante had lost a point for holding. He was also pushing off a lot. Yori Boy was starting to land a lot when Bonsante picked him up and dropped him. It was a punk move and he had tried it, and been warned, earlier in the round.
CCampos landed awkwardly on his leg and hip and was unable to continue. I left before the announcement but DQ was, or should have been, the only call.

    Wow. Yeah, DQ7 per BoxRec.

So was it like the Dawson vs. Hopkins I slam?

I'm glad Yori Boy went out with a W but that sounds troubling. If he was injured and ends up having to spend his purse on medical bills that doesn't exactly seem worth the W. :verysad

If he isn't too badly injured, a rematch so he can ice Bonsante out cold would be great. :deal

Nah stoppage was fine. You can find it from youtube. Last punch he took hands being down laying on the ropes and clearly was on his way to get ktfo. He was protesting but he had difficulties to even stand up and it was like 30secs after stoppage. First I thought it was little bit early stoppage but then I saw how Campas struggled to keep his balance while protesting.

He picked him up over his shoulder, took a couple steps and dropped Yori Boy on his left side. It looked like his leg got bent under him

    Eh, I don't quite agree.

    (starting from ~31:02)

It wasn't Calzaghe vs. Manfredo bad or anything (since Yori Boy was at least stunned legitimately) but they had been slugging away trading leather on pretty even terms for the first half-minute of the seventh before Asikainen stunned him - and in the follow-up AA landed a bunch of clean punches, none of which managed to put Campas down. Even the big left hook from Asikainen just a couple of seconds before the ref jumped in - which may have been a contributing factor in him doing so - looked to be as hard a shot as the Finn could muster and clanged off Campas' grill with heavy reverb and knocked him back into the ropes but he soaked it up and didn't look to be on the verge of going down...in fact he was loading up his counter assault when the ref jumped in.

Great warrior and kinda underrated. He had some real skills and pop behind his punches.

And saw him live fighting here in Finland. He was 36 but still gave a very good fight and showed some real skills.. But I didn't like how he gave some lies to media after the fight.

I don't know. I saw it live and he had some real difficulties to even stand up straight and it was like 30 seconds after stoppage. I believe there was no coming back from that punch. Asikainen did catch him with a helluva punch, left hook. He was hurt badly imo. Asikainen's following attack wasnt that good, he rushed in too much without any power and didn't land cleanly too much. But the last one on the ropes, Campas had his hands down without any defence and took free shot, nothing was coming back.

15 seconds more max and he would have been ktfod I believe so I don't know.. i still feel it was a fine stoppage after seeing how he struggled to stand up

Btw this was a same referee that let Maccarinelli continue against Frenkel :nut

to be honest now when I watch it from youtube, it looks a little premature. But I swear you that Campas was all over the place after the stoppage and that is something you can't see from these videos. 31.50 commentator says with a little worry in his voice that '' Oh Campas is still out of his feet and finding it hard to stand up''
