Me and my m8 were in the pub last night and ended arguing about boxing. We ended debating about Carl Froch and Arthur Abraham.

We were abit pissed n I ended up betting £100 that carl froch wont get knocked out by Abraham when they fight in super 6. Whats the general opinion, my bet safe?

knocked? as in out or just taking a loss?

i think both are real possibilities. if taylor can put him down, Arthur will put him out.

Froch is about as tailor made for an Abraham KO as they come. Hands down and over confident of his speed. Abraham will let him come in and then turn out the lights. Most likely scenario anyhow. :yep

Don't like it for your end, but Froch is a tough dude with heavy stones, so you never know.

There is no such thing as a 'safe' bet when you are talking about anything that respires.

Especially in this instance, a guy known for being extremely powerful against a guy known for being extremely open. That's about as risky as it gets.

But if you got £100 on it with a friend that equates to evens which might be better than you'd get at a bookmaker for the same thing.

Talk about a 'silver lining'.

At least tomorrow when some of the Froch supporters wake up they will make him feel better about his bet. Of course the Abraham supporters wake up even earlier so it will be a rough night. :D

Yea my bet is shithot. I got evens on the fact Carl wont get sparked. He could win lose draw doesnt matter no bookies will give me them odds anywhere.

But Froch is open alot and Abraham can bang. And £100 is a shitload of money.

that was a really, really, really stupid bet. if anyone's gonna finally knock froch into next week it's going to be AA.

Not sure why your mate gave you the unusual bet - i am sure alcohol involved in the decision making process.

I give it 60 - 40 he gets knocked out or stopped. Maybe not sparked out clean cause he is a pretty tough SOB. Low hands make me nervous for your hundred pound

That without a doubt isn't a safe bet. He was rocked against Dirrell, and Taylor put him down, I would be shocked if Abraham doesn't stop Froch, but hey you never know anything can happen.

I think if you could get odds on it from a bookie today, you could lay the bet off and take a profit.

Problem is that if he loses to kessler, and abraham beats dirrell (one of which i see 50-50, the other i see v likely) the odds will get pretty likely he gets KO by AA

I don't think Abraham will knock him out, but I do think there is a good chance he could beat him. (although Froch has taken a lot of punishment in his last 3 bouts)

He was knocked down by Taylor, but I think that was more of he didn't see the punches coming, as opposed to he was hurt by them.
I think he took cleaner and harder shots from Pascal than he did in the bouts against Taylor and Dirrell. And i'd be guessing Pascal hits harder than the two mentioned and Abraham, as he is now a World Champion up at Light Heavy.

You never know in boxing though, people react differently to punches from different opponents. A "harder" puncher may not be able to hurt or knock out said opponent, but a guy who is not recognised as a hard puncher may hurt or even knock out the same guy.

Your mate must be one smug git right about now.
