As Kuggan didn’t ask Eddie about it in the interview the other day, I guess the £40 rumour has legs which would make me completely wrong as I was confident that they wouldn’t go over £30. They probably put it out there themselves to test the temperature. My new guess is, they will announce the fight and not disclose the price until about 3 weeks before the fight. That way all the hype would extinguish the majority of the complaints. I still believe though that charging £40 will drive a lot of people to streams etc, but I’m sure they have done the maths /stats and perhaps they don’t care.
As a business, it'd be a smart move to try an expensive price. But with proper deep cards and make it a real event like the HBO team (or even the 90s sky team) used to make it feel like. They'd have to revamp their team, as Bellew, Jonas, Froch, Nelson, adam smith etc don't cut it. The guys who can't afford it or are influenced by Jurgen won't buy it any way, whereas the middle and upper class and joey essex types will still buy it. Like if you get 100 to 300 thousand buys at £100, it makes sense.
