Cheers. He seems pretty rounded, looks like he can punch a bit and evidently take a punch if he was taking right hands from Mendoza, and he's faced a few punchers so far. And looks like he can box with that 'quick jab lateral movement' stuff. Hopefully he'll get some televised fights soon. Surely somebody will pick the Berrio fight up?
Yes, the Griffin fight was on youtube. He is a little sluggish and should take a little time to polish his skills, becase he could be a force. I don't want him to become Oleg Maskaev..
Maybe in Kazakhstan, where the fight is. I doubt it will get onto US TV though when it's 10 time zones over.
http://www.fightnews.com/?p=317 There was a question: Don’t you think about a possible move towards cable TV networks and fighting, say, on ESPN or Shobox: The New Generation? I don’t want to be showcased on TV very much because I see my skills might be improved and I haven’t reached everything I am able for.
Does anybody know how to correctly pronounce the name? I've never heard it said that I know of..... So is it ...Bay-boo, or Bay-butt, Bee-butt, Bee-boo?? Seriously asking, cause my dumb ass has been way off before I actually heard some before.
That's what I'll roll with then....:yep Hopefully I won't have to find out like 2 years later I've mispronounced the dudes name all along.
It's a bit funny to hear Bay-e-boot commenting on his promotion's recent signing of Gayratjon Ahmedov. "We’re very excited to add a fighter of Gayratjon’s ability to our growing stable of future champions at KZ Event Productions. He’s a devastating puncher who fans will love when they have an opportunity to watch him fight." The funny thing is a figther speaking about signing another fighter being older than him, having more pro fights and being his competitor at LHW. "He's a devestating puncher.... so I better watch out!"
Here's the Griffin fight: http://fight fan .com/2008/12/watch-rising-star-beibut-shumenov-vs-montell-griffin/ Remove the spaces
Usually that's something fighters say when they're going to keep fighting tomato cans for awhile yet, but Shumenov takes that theory and destroys it like a tomahawk to the testicles- he's now angling to take on Erdei for Zsolt's WBO title in August to become lineal champ in only his 9th fight! Man, I hope his brother is doing most of the legwork on the promotional side because he needs to be focusing 100% on training to maximize his potential. Either way, put me on this dude's bandwagon 100%. :happy
