There used to be a forum, then, there used to be a thread, but it got forgotten and lost. Time to have our own thread again to talk all things Canadian without having to start a new thread each time or to bring up issues in non-related threads, I think. ...please bump regularly!:canada
So what's this thing I've been reading about GYM and Interbox negotiating about a possible Bute v. Pascal fight? Any news on Pascal and whom he'd fight next? What options are there for him? Anyone hear any more on the rumoured future Interbox GYM merger, now that there's another big hittin' promoter in town? Any other news or rumour?:hey
I've heard Jean Pascal might fight Joe Spina in April. I'm sure Spina is just one of the names on the table tho. It looks like GYM wants to make a boxing card in Quebec City with Joachim Alcine as the main event. It would be his first fight since he lost his title this summer. Perhaps the Pascal-Spina fight would be the co-main event? Also, from what I've heard on another forum. Nothing is signed yet for the Bradley-Holt & Andrade-Tsypko card. Which is why it was taken off boxrec.com. As far as the Bute-Zuniga card is concern. It looks like David Whittom and Carl Handy will fight a rematch on the undercard. I've also heard a rumor that JoJo Dan could be fighting Henry Bruseles.
Very good interview with Marlon B. Wright, including about the mistakes he made during the Bute v. Andrade fight, and his decision-making and stance during the fight...well worth reading. Very good article about Pascal's preparation for Froch and his experience in England. ...both in fairly easily-understandable French. http://www.lazonedeboxe.net/public/magazinelazonedeboxe23.pdf
I don't think its downhill. I think it was overated. Ndgoujo is world class but it was clear that he didn't have enough power (without any extraodinary skills) to be at the top. Jean Pascal is/was a clear case of over hype. Comparing him to Jones Jr. before is 1rst profesionnal fight...AVerage speed, average power, no jab, no lead right. no uppercut. Jumping in with a large shot. Roy jones? Alcine may be one of the best technically but power is also missing. Decarie is wonderful to watch...but no power. Diaconu has power (may be a bit overated) but is very raw technically. Best fighter is Bute, without a doubt. Has everything. Should fight Andrade again to erase round 12th. I doubt he could beat Kessler... Still, all those guys are world class fighter fighting in Quebec. Not bad at all.
The website of the New promoter in Montreal, Alexander Choko, who tries to bring Andrade-Tsypko & Holt-Bradley in Montreal. http://chokoboxing.com/
I've heard that Alain Tremblay, Molitor's promoter, is the one who is organising the showdown at the Bell center with Bradley vs Holt and Andrade vs Tsypko in April. this guy is awesome.
you guys have some pretty good fighters, Bute, Pascal, Molitor........ya'll got anyone else worth me knowing?
