I already have my tickets for April 4th but the fight is not getting much press. Two American black guys who aren't even that popular in the US are not gonna sell more tickets than Lucian Bute no matter how uncompetitive Bute's opponent is.
Question:Why don't they open the Bell Centre completely for every (big) fight? I mean they are printing more tickets for Bradley vs Holt than for Bute vs Zuniga? Bute vs Andrade had more people itself?
People know Zuniga is a puncher and in any case, he's more of a threat than Joppy was...and they sold more than 10k with Joppy. I said before I didn't think Choko would sell more than 10k, but also said that 10k would be a very good result, even with Andrade on the card. I hope Choko didn't really plan to sell out to be able to make this work financially.
No...Bute v. Andrade sold over 16k, but still under the 21k limit. The rematch might draw in closer to 18k, though.
What would be the point? It's not selling more than 13k anyway. You get a better atmosphere if you don't open up completely and are left with big empty spaces. People come for the atmoshpere...you get a better view of the fight on TV than from the cheap seats...
Guys, the entire Bell Center is open when there is more 10 000 people. What I mean by that is they open the entire ground level and "close" the seats that are higher up. Bute-Andrade filled the entire ground level plus section 200 and some of 300.
