By far, Lennox Lewis. He’s 50lb heavier than most of them.

I am going to nominate Tyson. I know some folks may disagree but look at the number of one punch ko's or stoppages.

He stopped Tony Tubbs with a single left hook. Same Tubbs did well vs Bowe later on.

He basically ko'd Marvis Frazier with one right uppercut. The follow up punches were a formality as Marvis was basically out cold.

He stopped Botha and Tillman with a single right hand.

He had serious ko power in his left hook, right hand and right uppercut.

    Shavers is up there too.

I dont think you can overlook Frank Bruno, not at number 1 but surely in any top ten discussion...

Yeah. Not a big Tyson fan myself; but I was wondering why he wasn't mentioned.

I think with Tyson it has less to do with sheer punching power and more with his explosive speed and superior accuracy placing his punches.

If Shavers' and Foreman's punches are akin to wrecking balls, Tyson's punching is more like a bullet.

Wladimir Klitschko didn't have extremely powerful punches then according to you?

For pure power he may have been the hardest two handed puncher ... he stopped punching for power when he changed his style to survive his chin but it's a seriously possible call ... obviously Shavers, Wilder , Foreman , Lewis too ...

P4P its probably Fitzsimmons. As an interesting aside to that here's something i read:

Not basing it on that, I just think that's an interesting little snippet. Fitzsimmons was a freak of nature though.

Wlad or Shavers. Wlad's way bigger tho, so most likely him.

Wlad was within a few pounds of him, and the difference there was probably just in bf% -- Lewis was never as lean as Wlad always was (and do keep in mind skin color -- white dudes need to be leaner than those with some skin color to look as lean, why do you think white pro bodybuilders go crazy with that bronzer stuff?).

In these discussions, Wlad always gets shortchanged, and I never quite know why. Yeah, he could be boring with the jab and grab, but his straight right? His left hook? Dude had unreal power. If he'd had his brother's chin and could take more chances, he'd be remembered as a real life Ivan Drago.

Wilder probably. He had a very malnourished skill set and still knocked down 2 top guys

    Odd list to not have
    Tyson
    Marciano
Two of the best KO artists ever. To have Tua and Wilder on there who haven’t that many good KOs…
My opinion would be Foreman, Wlad, Lewis were all of the same power. Can’t get stronger. The only difference between them and say guys like Lyle, Shavers, etc was ability to deliver, accuracy etc.
