Agrba has a nice, long, accurate right jab (and is probably up 20-18 on all three judges' cards) but I'm honestly not all that impressed with either of these guys so far. A lot of misses and blocks, turn-taking, neither really doing much thinking on their feet.

 

Yep, has a win over Roniel Iglesias...and the only person to ever RSC or dominate him was legendary Russian gold medalist Andrey Zamkovoy (losing to him 4x); his other losses mostly SD or MD..

 

Abdiev was stunned late in round 3 by a right hook punctuating a lightning-fast combo. I think if Agrba had realized the opportunity he could've finished it then. Leaning towards a stoppage for him in this second half somewhere.

Starting to revise my early impression; Agrba is putting on a very fine debut performance here. That jab is SOLID. The awkwardness in the feeling-out rounds came mostly from it being southpaw versus southpaw, and I think Abdiev might have been spoiling a bit, initiating some clinching, ducking and wedging his skull into the armpit of Agrba, etc.

 

Shutout for Agrba through five. One round left if he wants to get the stoppage.

^ Abdiev barking as he shoeshines into Agrba's body up close, until running on fumes and then just pecking with single light shots. He went all out in round six but Agrba didn't seem to feel a single blow. Abdiev cleaving in so tightly did allow him to survive, as it didn't permit Agrba to get full extension on any kayo shots (Abdiev was clipped by a right hook & left hand combo early and immediately decided to flypaper himself to Agrba the rest of the way).
