Sagov creating his shots when he needs to, abruptly turning southpaw midstep and feinting with the right jab and then spearing in laser sighted lefts on the nose between Mouraov's gloves, then shuffling around the outside for a while, always keeping Mouraov guessing when the next offensive blur is going to explode from a lull.

60-54. Couple of these have verged on 10-8.

Fantastic showing, if you had shown me this footage in a vacuum and told me the guy was 25-0 instead of 4-1 you'd not have me batting an eyelash.

Damn, poor Khetag - so basic and so unprepared for a match like this. He's used to guys laying down upon getting a taste of his power (only a single opponent has seen two completed rounds, in his one UD4, and that person had a point docked for holding). He's getting wholesale taken apart here. Tough son of a gun, though, he won't quit.

    70-63

I def need to check out the guy who knocked out Sagov in 2, granted that was at HW but Sagov looks very well rounded here

Mouraov has a gashed eyelid and lots of swelling, and is getting out-connected by like a 10:1 margin. They should consider halting this.

    80-72 Sagov

Yeah part of a tournament of Russian novices, it seems, in the semifinals. The guy (Vitaly Kudukhov) made his pro debut in the quarterfinals!

They announced WBC open scoring at one point; can't imagine any of the judges have given Mouraov a round.

there are def more variables in a tournament format like that with multiple fights in one night, maybe he was exhausted/injured from the previous fight but still he looks great tonight in a fight where he was the underdog going in so the guy who beat him has to be solid at least

Credit to Mouraov, he kept trying with haymakers off the hip until the very last minute. Just completely outclassed today.

I have this a shutout, Sagov never allowed his opponent to get set and controlled every round with slick movement and accurate shots from either stance.

I have no clue what his ceiling is but he has a very entertaining style and this fight was way better than I anticipated

    Official cards:

    in Russian x3

I think UD for Sagov (who threw a celebratory uppercut after each score was read, although one sounded close, because the commentators went "ooh", you could hear their disapproving grimace)

He is definitely the breakout "1 to watch" from this card, with Devyatov a distant 2nd. :deal:

Ohh right, knew I recognized the name - this is the guy that gave Dmitry Kudryashov a ton of problems in a SD loss on the Mchunu vs. Lebedev undercard despite coming in an unheralded journeyman.
