Netesov got his shite rocked by a huge 1-2 but kept pushing forward. His face is turning into mincemeat.

Arslan Dzhalaldinovich Yallyev vs. Maximiliano Alejandro Sosa, 8 rounds @ heavyweight

 

Sosa is a 37 year old Argentine-Spaniard with a 12-7 record, on a five loss skid. Yallyev is a decade his junior, 14-0 with 9 kayos.

 

Sosa takes a knee just two minutes in. Doing a lot of showboating, waving his arms up overhead to egg on the crowd with a big grin - but I see being KTFO in his immediate future.

 

Sosa flat on his back from a slow telegraphed 1-2, and then jokingly argues with the ref to buy himself some recovery time. Down again moments later, then lands a hail mary overhand right betwen Yallyev's eyes and is saved by the bell as the Russian winds up to retaliate.

Both men have ten professional bouts to date (after several dozen each in the amateurs). Mazur - a St. Pete local - has won all of his, whie his Georgian opponent has lost one.

 

We're getting the full monty, national anthems... this is for the WBA's vacant Asian lightweight title.

(Sathaporn "NKL" Saart of Thailand captured the belt in February but was stripped after he moved down to super feather and got knocked out by Mikito Nakano in May)

Mazur has that annoying habit of barking loudly ("hah!") whenever he throws a punch. Usually see that with American amateurs. He's trying to establish his long southpaw jab and build combos off it, but wasting a bit too much energy reaching in with it, and frequently spinning himself off-balance. Uzlyan staying disciplined, high tight guard, moving around, feeding him counters.
