Islam "Th Sniper" Edisultanov is a 36 year old southpaw with just an 11-0 record (turned pro at 29 after grinding in the amateurs for a while, mostly on the domestic scene but with a few international forays) ...and is whooping the Hungarian's ass.

He's bringing it like he wants to stop Tóth (and would be the first to do so, as his thirty-eighth opponent)

 

I believe Tóth has only ever been so much as down once (against Kerman Lejarraga, though he got up and lasted the full twelve). Not a bad result becoming first to stop him, even if a corner retirement.

It's been about three years since Idigov registered a stoppage, and that was via injury (versus Konstantin Piternov - incidentally, a common opponent with Gorokhov. Piternov dropped him 4x and UD'ed him in 2016)

 

Round 1

Idigov jabs the chest and chin of Gorokhov, then slides outside and rests his left arm low against his side. Gorokhov with very halting and uncertain offense when given latitude to press the attack, pecking with jabs and overloading (and missing) uppercuts. Idigov lands a couple of looping power shots roaring up from a crouch to ring his bell late.

Round 2

Gorokhov is brushing the top of Idigov's head with slow yo-yo jabs, and Idigov is wasting lots of motion on ducking and weaving or leaping laterally despite the fact that Gorokhov isn't even pressuring/throwing at him. Idigov very spastic, bouncing off the ropes to dive in and clinch as Gorokhov is just standing there. Idigov now and then launching himself at Gorokhov and rocking him with high-arc cannonballs on the dome.

Weird that Idigov gets hyped. Really isn't all that good.

 

Round 3

Idigov bashes away on the goalposts of Gorokhov, and then gives him a turn...and that's a bad idea. The old baldie is making the most of his moments, lining up many a 1-2 bang on the mush. I think he stole this round.

29-28 Idigov

 

Yeah, what I meant by that was more "not all that special". Not "alert the boys, it's Aslambek Idigov fight day! " special (something I've seen said). His fundamentals are fine. He's as "good" as any random Russian undefeated prospect from these shows, but he hardly ranks among the best of them. And yeah, not a puncher although he seems to believe he is one.

 

39-37 Idigov, starting to pump out several uppercuts at once hopping around Gorokhov. Some landing, some not, but outworking his man in any event. Mixing to body and head.

 

Gorokhov giving him some hassle in the 5th, basically handing a full-extension receipt every time Idigov does his wild catapult inside thing, throwing hooks and then ducking out (with Gorokhov catching him as he's riding the seaward tide). Still probably an Iddy round on work rate.
