This really has no business being the co-main event, as the Uzbek is 7-5-2 and winless in his last four outings...but my read is they're setting up a rematch between the former Russian national and Eurasian Boxing Parliament super lightweight titlist Chelokhsaev and the last (and second ever) man to beat him, Yauheni Dauhaliavets, provided they both triumph in their showcases today.

They look small for 140, I figured 126.

10-8 Chelokhsaev, this won't go eight.

Ref is just a giant, I think... forced perspective. :sisi1

Chelokhsaev is 5'8" and has fought his entire career above lightweight (junior middle a few times).

Chelokhsaev hurting SodaBottleYev or whatever even with jabs, head snapping back like a Pez dispenser...end is nigh.

    edit: yep, bye.

    KO2!!

Chelokhsaev is now 20-2-1 (13). He took all of 2021 off after losing to Dauhaliavets and is now on the scoreboard again to break a 15 month layoff. Heading into that he was on a 14-0 roll since his first defeat, and coming off a momentum-building victory over Aik Shakhnazaryan.

They interviewed him in the ring, in Russian obviously so I didn't understand a word, but my hunch given his overall presentation is that Russian television sees that Dauhaliavets rematch as money, so it was probably discussing that.

"El Potro" is a pretty tough Argie southpaw...only ever stopped a small handful of times, and that by the likes of Batyrzhan Jukembayev and Subriel Matías. I'll be shocked (and impressed) should Dauhaliavets steamroll him.

    Round 1

Dauhaliavets is narrowing the gap and rolling out a left jab. Eniz ducks against the ropes, drills a left uppercut into the belt line and blasts Dauhaliavets with a warning right jab in the mouth. Eniz fighting like a cornered animal when Dauhaliavets comes anywhere near him, exploding from a crouch and keeping his body turned on a diagonal. Eniz boxing very well early here. Dauhaliavets seems a little nonplussed, having apparently expected more of a feel-out where he dictated the range and pace. Lots of ambush combos by Eniz, changing levels with quick ducks and then strafing before rising and throwing a flurry. Dauhaliavets jabbing into the guard and lobbing in body shots under it. Eniz slashing a right hook into Dauhaliavets' left jab to knock it down.

10-9 Eniz, statement round, not here to lay down.

    Round 2

Dauhaliavets is putting out a lazy double left jab, barely retracting it halfway before snapping his wrist out again. Eniz ducks under it and plants a left uppercut on the abdomen, then scoots outside staying low. Tight guard by Eniz, circling against the ropes and letting Dauhaliavets walk up to him, both trading body shots as they lean together in a phonebooth. Eniz getting in some right hooks on the waistband, although he is getting muscled backward and Dauhaliavets is looping rights into his neck and sending reverberation shockwaves through him. For all that Eniz is showing educated hands and feet, there is a clear power deficit that favors the Belarusian.

    10-9 Dauhaliavets

    19-19

    Round 3

Dauhaliavets is done screwing around, stepping up to Eniz with a firmed up left jab now, and hooking off it as he steps inside, keeping his feet wide and knees bent, throwing with measured power while retaining his balance and poise. Lots of ducking in place and watchfulness from Eniz, but he is discouraged now from darting in as before. Dauhaliavets presses and Eniz throws a barking four shot combo, all blocked. Dauhaliavets reaches in with lead rights and then flutters out some left jabs and gets Eniz ducking and shelling up. Ref warns Eniz for something, either bending too low or maybe a brief clinch, not sure what exactly. Dauhaliavets probes with his jab, hunting. Eniz throws a right hook into Dauhaliavets' ear and gets bold, throwing another hacking combo, again blocked, although he does make Dauhaliavets back up a few steps. Dauhaliavets takes his turn and thumps Eniz atop the head with a straight three-piece.

    10-9 Dauhaliavets

    29-28 Dauhaliavets

I've spent three rounds and change wondering why the commentators kept saying something that sounded an awful lot like the word "anus" in English...that's their pronunciation of Eniz's name. :duh

39-37 Dauhaliavets ...devolving into an ugly contest, Eniz still being a pest but more so now with negativity than with the skill he showed flashes of early. He is ducking below the waist quite a bit and exposing the back of his own head (and sometimes accidentally hooking into Dauhaliavets' crotch), and Dauhaliavets is consequently getting in lots of accidental rabbit punches.

Anus has a resurgence in the 5th, with Dauhaliavets taking it more or less off in terms of work rate. Lots of counter overhand lefts and right jabs sliced in by the Argentinian keeping himself a narrow target side-on and using constant movement, baiting the lead to counter.

    10-9 Eniz

    48-47 Dauhaliavets

@sasto and @chacal - whatever circumstances led you to have to bail, highly unfortunate as you're missing an intriguing main event!
